Blue & Orange Nursery

Description

We wanted calming yet fun colors in the nursery for our little one and decided blue and orange would be perfect.  Elle's dad slept in the cradle as a baby, and it was made by his grandfather!

Design Inspiration

We opted not to find out the gender of the baby, so gender neutral colors were important.  We went with a calming blue for the walls with bright orange accents.  Our families live throughout the world, and it is important for us that Elle knows that while they are far away, they are always close to heart.  A world map pinpoints where her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins live.  Wedding photos of her grandparents, great grandparents and of course mom & dad also hang on the wall!

Project Details

The wall paint is Behr Healing Waters.  The ABC pictures are the "Not Your Usual Alphabet" wall hangings from Land of Nod.  The world map is from Crate and Barrel.  The orange hanger is from CB2.  We were looking for a small glider, and instead found this Poang chair at Ikea.  Orange sheets are from Carousel Designs.

Your cradle looks really cute and adorable. And I love, love, love the fact that it was made by Elle's grandfather. A labor of love, I should say.
