Blue & Green Vintage Preppy Nursery

Description

The day I went into have an Ultra Sound to find out the gender of our Baby #2, I KNEW I was having a boy and already had his name picked out.  As soon as the Dr. confirmed it, I looked over to  my husband Dave and said well, it’s official.  His name is going to be Canon.  From that day, I started planning on what his nursery would look like. I loved the color combination of kelly green and navy.  In my opinion it just screamed boy, and I knew it would work really well with some of the traditional furniture we already had.

Design Inspiration

I really wanted to create a room that would grow with Canon.  I spent a TON of time on this nursery and didn't want a room that I felt the need to change out once he turned 2. So I created an inspiration board with things that I loved and that really helped me organize my thoughts and ideas.

Decorating Style

My style is definitely traditional with a bit of vintage thrown in.

Project Details

A lot of this room I DIY'd.  You can find most of my how to's on my blog The Diary of DavesWife  Including the DIY Stripe Curtains, the Changing Pad Cover Tutorial, The Crate Bookshelves, and the Peg Board Changing Station.

Favorite Items

My favorite thing in this whole room has to be the bow tie wall.  I collaborated with the fun girls of Landee on Etsy to come up with the bow tie design.  Once I got them applied to the walls, the whole room really started to come together.

Advice

It took me 2+ years to put this room together, and get it to the point of it feeling done.  Be patient with yourself.
