A Project For

Beckham Matthew

Age

Due August 30th

Location

Southwest Virginia

Description

We are so excited to be adding a little boy to our family!  My husband said he wanted something "modern & preppy" for our little man so I tried to keep this in mind when designing the room.  I think we created a clean space that reflects the overall feel we were going for.

Design Inspiration

The rugby panels for the windows were the main inspiration for the space.  They had that preppy feel that we were after and really set the colors and focal point for the room.

Decorating Style

clean and contemporary

Favorite Items

The window panels.  I had completely planned to DIY them but when I found them at Pottery Barn I splurged and it was totally worth it!  I also really love the Jeep print as my hubby loves his Jeep Wrangler, so it puts a personalized touch on the room.

Advice

Always think long term by choosing items that will transition well from baby to toddler.  Don't forget to add personal touches so that the room is not only beautiful but has a special meaning as well.

Wow! Just wow! I am in the process of designing my 2 month old’s nursery (he’s still camped out in the guest room for now), and I am also doing a navy/white preppy theme. Only difference is we are incorporating more of a nautical theme with the whale sheet (same one you have here), anchors and sailboats. So anyway, I’ve been struggling with the window treatments since this is the EXACT look I want, and I thought I was going to have to DIY it. Didn’t even think to look at PBK windows section. I love your nursery, and also wanted to say that I love his name! We almost named our 3rd son Beckham, but instead went with Harrison. And our 4th son, the one whose room I am working on, is named Matthew. :) Best wishes to you for the healthy arrival of your little man!

Thanks everyone! I believe the paint color is Natural Linen by Glidden, but I need to double check. Jenny, the side table is from Walmart and was a STEAL at $29! Meg, I’m not sure of the carpeting as it was already in place in the home when we moved in last year.

I love the clean lines in this room! So classic. Also, I am not a big fan of names above cribs, but your choice of font for this one makes me reconsider! t’s so clean and simple. I think you did a great job!

Can you share it please. I tried looking for going gaga but found no such seller. Do you maybe have a link? Thank you so much for sharing our space with all of us.

Love this room! Perfect combination of modern nursery and not too theme-y. What style is your glider? Do you feel like its pretty comfy?

I also would like to know the size of the letters she says they come in 8,10, 12 inches. Your size looks great.

Just stumbled upon your nursery via Pinterest! You did a great job, I’m currently designing a nursery for my little guy. Love all the modern touches you did here. Those rugby curtains are amazing, I was thinking about DIYing mine too but after seeing yours I totally see why you splurged! :)

Love this nursery!!!! Definetly looks very modern. I was wondering what size letters you used? Absolutely, love the DIY Jeep print. What kind of program/paper did you use? Where did you find the one little monkey prints? Do you have a special clip art program?
