A Bazaar Purple Mediterranean Slumber

Description

This is a purple Mediterranean slumber for our second daughter, Ellison Claire.

Design Inspiration

Middle Eastern, shabby chic, and bold colors.

Decorating Style

Authentic. I pioneer to be true to what I really like versus what is "in" at the moment. I like to think outside the box and purchase décor based my gut and not what is featured in the magazines.

Project Details

The curtains, pouf, and bedding are part of the Bazaar collection from The Land of Nod. The rug was a serendipitous discovery from a close girlfriend (who has savvy style) and is part of the Safavieh Wyndham collection.  The "fauxidermy" and wall art are from Z Gallerie. The oval mirror, night stand, and changing table are from a shabby chic furniture shop in Tampa. The diaper container on the changing table is part of the Rectangular Crunch Can collection at The Container Store. (We also have the matching laundry basket- not pictured). The elephant rocking horse was a hand-me-down gift from our friends, and a similar one can be purchased at Pottery Barn Kids. The burlap wreath was purchased from a private seller on Etsy.

Favorite Items

Hands down, the rug. It's gorgeous and really ties the room together (pun intended!)

Advice

Start with a collection of matching fabrics for the bedding and curtains and work your way outward from there. Stay away from matchy-matchy. Most of my items were not purchased from the same place, but they all came together.
