Took the old guest room and redid for new baby boy on the way. Used most cost effective way of decorating by finding unique items via Etsy.
Design Inspiration
Nautical. I wanted a room that didn't give you a headache when you walked in and screamed baby, but rather something he can live with for a couple years.
Decorating Style
I would say I love cottage style, but I am pull pieces that are ecelctic.
Advice
Use coupons! Take advantage of free shipping sales and really use Etsy to your advantage. You can find a ton of great ideas/products on that site that wont break the bank.

I love those shabby chic square blocks with different colored patterns. At first I thought they were flags and that you were going for some sort of United Nations theme. LOL.
