Baby Shower Brunch

Description

I threw a baby shower brunch for my aunt and her baby girl due in March. Mikelle loves breakfast so we went with a breakfast themed shower and had lots of delicious breakfast foods. We also had a color theme of light pink, gray, and white to match her nursery colors. Also, instead of playing games we did crafts. We made felt bows for baby Aubrey and tied a quilt for her nursery.

Design Inspiration

I saw a blog that did a similar shower and thought it would be a cute idea. Also the colors of her shower was a big inspiration.

Decorating Style

Shabby chic/ modern.

Project Details

I made all the cake plates at the shower using old candlesticks that I painted and plates found at a thrift store. The tissue paper poms were so fun to make, I found the tutorial at marthastewart.com. The pennant banners were super easy to make. I cut out the fabric and glued the triangles to ribbon using fabric glue, no sewing required! Then the little circle garland I made using a die cut, glue and string. I loved doing crafts instead of playing games. It gave everyone a chance to chat while making cute little bows for baby. We found many different tutorials online for the bows (mostly found on pinterest.com). I made baby a quilt and had some of the lovely ladies tie it which was fun.

Favorite Items

My favorite item(s) would have to be the food table. I just love how it came together and the food was so delicious!

Advice

If you want to achieve a themed look, colors can really help with this. Pick a few colors or styles you like and work from there and everything will come together.
