baby k’s nursery

Description

An eclectic nursery built around traditional pieces with a modern, clean feel. Neutral palette with pops of green and navy blue.

Design Inspiration

I wanted a mix of traditional, timeless pieces with a modern, fresh feel.  The rug from Lilly Pulitzer had me at hello!

Decorating Style

vintage modern.  Eclectic chic.

Project Details

I repurposed an existing slipper chair by reupholstering it in grass trellis by Serena&Lily and a green lamp from a few years ago (a find from Tuesday Morning).  The sweet baby bubbles in shadow boxes are from when Kendall's daddy was a baby.  The bedding is a mix of (rory bedding, discontinued) from Serena&Lily and Modern Meadow fabric, sewn by Hush Baby Co (etsy).  The white bookshelf tower is from Ikea and filled with baskets and containers found at Homegoods.  The elephant hamper is a fun find from Amazon.

Favorite Items

My favorite piece is the Catching Z's animal rug from Lilly Pulitzer (bought from Garnet Hill). The colors just pop on the wood floor and Kendall loves to play there.  I also love my husband's baby clothing hanging above her crib.  It gives the room a sense of history.

Advice

Find a piece that you LOVE and build around it.  Find things currently existing in your home that you can repurpose.  It is green AND budget friendly.

Your nursery is stunning.  One of my top two favorites on this sight! I have visited your blog and your home is incredible.  I have an antique rocker with an upholstered seat and back (horse hair) that I'd like to reupholster in the grass trellis from Serena and Lily, but I do not see that fabric in upholstery weight.  Is your slipper chair upholstered in grass trellis a calico weight?  Or did they used to have that print in upholstery weight?

thanks!

I love the little eclectic touches. My favorites are the shelf with wicker baskets and tin containers, and those framed baby clothes by the crib.
