Design Inspiration
When I started looking for nursery ideas, I saw a faux barn door as a headboard on a blog and fell in love with the rustic look for a little boy's nursery.
Decorating Style
I have a bit of a mix of styles. In our home, I have a combination of shabby chic, rustic, and modern to balance it all out. I love the effortless, quaint look with light colors. I have to be careful not to make it too girly - for my husband :)

Favorite Items
I love so many things about this nursery. I am pleased with it since it is my first baby and first nursery to decorate and design myself. However, my favorite pieces are the barn door, the ottoman, and the "I am His" custom wall print. I know I will be able to use the barn door as a headboard for him one day!
Advice
I decorated this nursery over a total of a 4 1/2 - 5 month span. Take your time! I shopped around and took my time to look, because 1) I wanted the perfect item and 2) I wanted a good, budget-friendly price. Be open to the places you could find your items - they could even be in your home! You can create a beautiful nursery on a budget.
