Baby Boy Luncheon

Description

For my second child (first boy, though!!) my mom threw a luncheon to celebrate. She was out of town the whole month before, so I got to take creative control, which was so much fun! Lots of time was spent on this website and etsy as well. So I wanted to "give back" to the site and share my special day with you!

Design Inspiration

My "sophisticated safari" nursery props really inspired me... i.e. the stuffed giraffe and zebra, vintage safari hat, globeĀ and binoculars.

Project Details

The yellow chevron runners I rented from ultrapom.com and navy asian silk fans I gave to each guest at their place setting tied in nicely with the navy umbrellas with chinese lanterns hanging and the natural bamboo chavari chairs. The center pieces at each table were a cluster of blue and white chinese urns, all different sizes, with blue and white hydrangeas in them. The dessert table was filled with cake pops that had "Its a Boy" ribbon tied around them and little bundt cakes with paper umbrellas stuck into the cream cheese frosting. We had a fun mimosa bar with a bartender offering my guests Mango, Peach, Blueberry, Pomegranate or Pineapple to mix with the Veuve Cliquo champagne. I tied my elephant mobile from a tree above, so it dangled down over a collection of bamboo and silver frames, all filled with special snap shots of my family. We also had a bulletin board filled with photos of my husband from when he was a baby/child... as this baby boy is named after him and I am hoping he resembles my husband as a baby!

I saw your family photo and I have to say your husband looks a lot like Prince William here!

Love the printed lanterns under the umbrella and the white and blue hydrangeas in big oriental vases.
