Baby A’s nursery

Description

Addy's nursery is focused around soft colors, florals and fun!

Design Inspiration

We wanted our daughter to have a pretty, fun space that would grow with her. The started with a crib sheet that gave us our color palette for the project.

Project Details

Addy's nursery was a labor of love that was finished in the nick of time. I wanted her room to be girly but not over the top girl and not too pink. We went with a soft yellow on the walls, accented with white furniture and her glider gave a bit of contrast to the room.  I obsessed over the little details, tweaking things even still.

We were on a budget, but I was willing to splurge if there was something that I absolutely had to have. We also wanted the room to easily transition with our little bundle of joy.

The room centered around one of our crib sheets, the floral pattern is a crib sheet by Jill McDonald for Babies R' Us. It gave us our color scheme and jumping off point. After pouring over projects here I knew that I wanted a vintage dresser that we could refinish white.  After searching high and low we found exactly what we were looking for. I love the lines and it came out beautifully thanks to my husband’s patience with a perfectionist that he wouldn't allow to paint. We found the dresser at an estate sale store for a mere $32. When it was all said and done the project probably cost about $100.  We also lined the drawers with fabric-which was an undertaking, but well worth it.

I also made several of the pieces in the room like her curtains, wall art, and bed skirt. Below is a source list for all the goodies in Addy's space.

I think that is everything in our little lady's room, hope you like it, we do :)

P.S. We still plan on switching out the ceiling fan and sorry for the photo quality, its not great. And ignore the boxes of diapers in the corner.

Favorite Items

My favorite item is the dresser, it took way more time than we anticipated, but we are so pleased with the results. I also love the floral wall art.

Advice

We registered for many of the items, which helped the budget. Also make what you can, take inspiration from the projects you find here. Finally, do what you love. We pieced the room together buying things on different shopping trips, don't settle for something you're not in love with.

Hey Jessica- Thanks so much. The glider has been great for us, it has worn pretty well over the last 7 months. Honestly it looks just about the same as when we first got it, the seat cushion has a little bit of wear but nothing major. I like that this glider has more cushion then a lot of others out there, it made those late night feedings a little more bearable. We also like that someday down the road we could put it in another room in the house. Good luck!

I love your nursery! I love the furniture and the wall art. So simple and beautiful at the same time. I love the way your glider/ottoman look, much sleeker than others out there. I looked online at Babies R Us but there were only a couple of reviews and they were mixed. Do you like your glider? How has the fabric held up? Any info would be great! Thanks!

I like your clock. And that cute little green shelf comes in my fave shade of green! Wish you had a close-up photo of that one.
