For my Daughter's nursery I wanted something vintage and girly. But, I didn't want it to baby ish I wanted something that she could grow into. Many of the decor items I made myself for a DIY nursery.
Design Inspiration:
I wanted something vintage and girly. I knew I wanted to do something pink, I decided on pink, black and white. I found a picture and mirrors from JoAnn's, they were the inspiration for the room.
Decorating Style:
Shabby Chic, with a hint of modern added in. I like things that are fresh and crisp.
Project Details:
All paint is Olympic in Black Magic, Pink Stork & Vintage Lace. The furniture is Graco Lauren edition in white. The crib skirt, curtains, and changing table pad were all handmade by me. The dresser is a Craigslist find that we re did. Changed out the knobs and lined the drawers.

Favorite Items:
One of my fave items in the room are the wooden letters my Sister made for me, and the child rocking chair that was mine as a kid.
Advice:
Shop discount stores, don't just settle for the first thing you see. Many times you can find it cheaper other places, or you can re create something on your own for very little. This room was all about DIY and affordability.

Awww. It’s simply adorable that you have a heirloom piece for your daughter. Hopefully she takes really great care of that rocking chair and maybe pass it on to her daughter someday. And the “Daddy’s Little Princess” is too sweet for words.

My absolute fave is that frame in the third pic. I love cute and pretty things like these.

I have always been a fan of everything shabby chic. Good job on this room. I can see that you have put a lot of love and a lot of creativity into this room. Hurrah to DIYers!
