Description
It all started with a favorite children's book and its artwork and the barn themed nursery blossomed from there. Arden's grandfather built the barn door and installed functioning barn lights, and an on-going search for the right pieces for the room ensued. We couldn't decide on a new wall color, so we went neutral and are happy we did! We aimed to achieve a mix of Shabby Chic, eclectic and "bumpkin" - and fell in love with the finished nursery!
Design Inspiration
The children's novel Charlotte's Web and the original artwork was the starting point for this nursery. Barn themed rooms were searched online and we knew we would create a barn door wall for either a baby boy or baby girl. Once we knew we were having a baby girl, the bedding and furniture were selected - we wanted soft, feminine, and shabby chic without the base color being pink. The Savannah line from Pottery Barn was perfect for this room! We collected various décor items along the way and voila - Arden's barn themed nursery was complete!
Decorating Style
Shabby Chic, Eclectic, Country "Bumpkin," and Classic - all spun together!

Window Panels, Bunting, and Lamp: Pottery Barn
Wildon Home Ashewick Swivel Glider Recliner: Wayfair

DIY:
* We took a copy of Charlotte's Web and framed the drawings in the book itself, including the book cover.
* We installed apple crates on the wall to function as book shelves. We found the apple crates on Ebay.
*The paper rosettes were created out of scrapbooking paper, and embellishments were added to the center of each for added flare.
* We snagged the scale, some Ball canning jars, and a few other decorative pieces at craft shows and antique shops.

The barn door built by Arden's grandfather is a favorite of ours, but we truly love every element of the room as it all came together to make it perfect for our baby girl!
