Archer’s Vintage Airplane Nursery

Description

My husband and his father are both professional and military aviators, and we wanted a nursery that honored that profession. We also wanted a room that he could grow into and that would easily transform into other looks as he got older.

Design Inspiration

My husband's love for aviation was our inspiration...everything else came from that passion!

Decorating Style

Fun, eclectic, relaxed

Project Details

The crib, dresser, and changing table are all Bonavita Peyton collection. The glider is a Sher-mag and was a gift from my parents. The side table is from Hobby Lobby. The little ice cream table and chairs was mine as a child, and I redid it to fit the room. The accessories mostly came from Hobby Lobby. The bedding is from Restoration Hardware. The skirt was made from a restoration hardware twin sized sheet. I used the leftover fabric to cover the lamp shade and small chairs. The large airplane project is a pottery barn knock off- it is just a gel ink transfer project I found online! Easy and MUCH less expensive!

Favorite Items

I love how the ice cream table and chairs turned out! I painted the tabletop and recovered the chairs, and I love that it was mine as a little girl!

Advice

Don't limit yourself to the baby section when doing a nursery!

I love your nursery. My dad was a WWII pilot and have been trying to make a large airplane photo or similar project like yours. Can you tell me where you got your image? Thanks for your help. You did a great job. Karen

Hi!

Love this room! Where did you get the silver "fly" letters?

Thanks!

How did you do the gel ink transfer? I'd love a link to the tutorial.
