Description:
After having three boys I was BEYOND excited to design a nursery for my little girl, but I still didn't want to go over the top frou frou. The rest of our house is a nice mix of modern and classic so I wanted to make sure the room would flow while at the same time providing Annabel (and me!) with one place that was undeniably feminine. What started out as a purely modern project morphed slightly into a mix between mid-century modern and 60's Boudoir style, and I absolutely love the way it turned out.

Design Inspiration:
The genesis of this room was the amazing Tres Tintas Hexagono wallpaper which I first spotted in a Novogratz-designed gym in the lilac colorway a few years back. I had been waiting and waiting for the right opportunity to use that paper so when I found out we were expecting a girl I went to order it right away. It turned out that the lilac had been discontinued since I first saw it and was sold out at every single retailer worldwide which sent me back to the drawing board. I started looking for something similar in purple but kept coming back to the large-scale geometric pattern of the Tres Tintas so when I realized they also carried it in silver, I was sold and the room just took off from there.

Decorating Style:
Modern (doesn't everybody say that now?) with a mix of classic and bohemian finds. I LOVE mixing patterns and colors together to give each room it's own distinct personality with lots and lots of color.

Favorite Items:
It's so hard to say just one favorite thing because there are so many things in there I love but if I had to narrow it down, I'd say the wallpaper. The whole room was built around that striking geometric print and I love the statement it makes when you walk through Annie's door.

Advice:
Don't be afraid to mix and match lots of patterns and colors. A big, bold geometric print can be balanced really well by smaller, delicate florals and the end result is both striking and calming - perfect for a little baby and easy to transition as she gets older! I like to stick with a palette of two or three main colors and then pepper in some bright accents, the end result being a room my little girl will hopefully love to grow up in!
