- A Project For: Westley
- Age: Due March 19
- Location: San Francisco Bay Area
-
Description:
My husband and I moved into our rental three months before Westley's due date. The challenge – how to inject our personal style without painting the walls or doing anything permanent to the room.
-
Design Inspiration:
Our color inspiration for the nursery was black and orange – an ode to our favorite team the San Francisco Giants, with accents of bright aqua blue.
-
Decorating Style:
We wanted a modern nursery with an urban edge. We brought in color through bold artwork, textiles, and accessories while keeping the furniture clean and simple. Our urban style and love of the Bay Area was brought in through various DIY projects which include painted chevron curtains, customized Ikea dressers, and a mural of the San Francisco skyline made entirely out of paint chips.

Favorite Items:
My favorite item in the room is hands down the paint chip mural. It includes all of our favorite San Francisco landmarks and brings in just the right amount of whimsy for this modern nursery. It took my brother weeks to assemble and is truly a labor of love.
-
Advice:
We chose a simple and bold font to achieve a cohesive look throughout the entire room. Most of the items we purchased were from big box stores and with a little creativity were able to achieve a custom look.
