Amalia’s Nursery

Description

Fun eclectic nursery for baby Amalia

Design Inspiration

My inspiration came from the color palate. I wanted to create a gender netural nursery using mailiny primary colors.

Decorating Style

Eclectic mix of vintage and contemporary peices

Project Details

Paint color is Benjamin Moore Hazy Blue. I picked the paint color frist then searhed and searched for the perfect fabric. The dresser/changing table was my grandmothers that I refinished and painted. The "sunshine" art is by me, the number cards, tissue poms, and knobs were all found on etsy. The fabric is Echino.

Favorite Items

The fabric and the colorful afgan on the crib. It was made for my husband by his grandmother when he was born. It was given to me at my baby shower after the nursery was decorated, and it tied in perfectly.

Advice

Take you time finding the right fabrics and furniture and furnishings.

I love this fun, bright room! My favorite is the afghan also! And the comment about the room being dull colored??? Huh?

Anyway, it's perfect!

I like the cheerfulness of this room. I don't know how you could have used a "brighter" shade on the walls - neon perhaps?! I think the hue is a good backdrop for all the other vibrant colors. You could have used a neutral tan and gotten a great effect with all the accessories too. I think my favorite is the little crocheted afghan, which you never see anymore!

hawahawa & heyjude: Thanks!! I ordered the fabric from superbuzzy.com. It's "Echino" by Etsuko Furuya, a Japanese fabric designer. I added the red panels of fabric to the top and bottom to create the shades.

Briskrain: Unfortunately the color in my pictures is a little dull complarted to the actual room. I hate that.

The paint color is actually a little on the brite side, and I get more complements on it than anything! I did want to do a lighter shade though so that the colors of the furnishings and accessories stand out.

I can't help but notice that amidst the bright colors of the things you used in this room, you chose a rather drab wall paint color.  Is that intentional?  How about a brighter shade?

I also love the curtain fabric, so where did you get it??
