Project Details

To lead everyone to the right house, I made a baby shower sign to go in the front yard that read "baby shower... this way... that way". There was the diaper cake which I has red roses on and I found a little rabbit running pin at michaels crafts and put it on the middle tier. I really had fun with the food! I made pp&j sandwiches and had a heart cookie cutter and cut it in the bread so the red jelly was shown through, we had "butter fly" bread, cookies that read, "eat me, try me" Her invitations where a pocket watch on one side, and the invitation on the other that read, "dont be late for a very important date, leah's very merry un-baby shower". During the shower, we each picked a gift that we did not bring, then past is to our left, and taking turns, opened them... This was a huge hit! Not only did it take the pressure off of Leah opening every gift, but we all got to open something and rave about how darn cute it was!! For favors, I went onto Barnes and Noble.com and found lewis carrol's through the looking glass books for 87cents and got those for favors, along with a single stem, white rose and inside there was a book mark I made with a wonderland poem tied with a string with a tag that read "Read Me"

to KelleJoya- The teapots are napkin rings i found at Pier1 on clearnence, they were originally green with white flowers, but I painted them black and added hearts and diamonds in red. Yes the gift opening was great, sort-of brought out the kid in everyone, I mean, who doesnt like opening a gift right??

The gifts opening idea is new to me. Sounds fun! Maybe next time I get to organize a party or a shower, I'd use that. What are those teapots with red paper by the way? Napkin holders? Looks really interesting.
