Baby Adler’s Gender Neutral Nursery

Description

The nursery was originally designed and created as a gender neutral nursery.  My husband and I chose to not find out the gender of our baby and really enjoyed the surprise.  Once our baby boy arrived we added a few personal touches to make the nursery even more perfect for baby Adler.

Design Inspiration

My inspiration originated from my nursery rocker.  I had always knew that I wanted to create a nursery with turquoise, mustard yellow and gray.  When I stumbled upon this chair at a baby store value sell I knew that this was the one.  The colors were perfect and the  pattern was simple, but special. Major plus is that the chair is super comfy.  I used the colors from the rocker to inspire the decorations for the rest of the nursery.  I found several great additions to the nursery and inspiration from Etsy online.

Decorating Style

Eclectic and colorful.  I didn't want to theme my nursery, but focused on bright colors with accents of different animals.  I am very in love with woodland creatures and used any accents I could find.  Hopefully Adler's nursery will grow with him from his nursery to his next "big boy" room.  I also chose to pick artwork that I would like to use in other parts of the house.

Favorite Items

My favorite item is the rocker in the nursery.  I love this piece of furniture and can see it being part of my house decor for years. I also love the newest addition of the homemade woodland creatures mobile to the nursery.

Advice

My advice would be to find something that you absolutely love and gain inspiration for the rest of your nursery from that item.  If you see something you love buy it.  Don't worry about colors matching perfectly and definitely don't be afraid of using many different colors.  Your baby will love their nursery and when you have fun and enjoy it so will they!
