Our rainbow baby is due this summer and we could not be more excited to bring he or she Earthside and home safely in our arms. We wanted to make the baby’s room a calm, peaceful space that felt light and airy. I am a big fan of the Scandinavian style for it’s simplistic minimal design, functionality and overall neutral colour palette. We don’t know the sex of our baby, and even if we did, I wouldn’t change a dang thing in this room. White was our main colour inspiration, then we added some natural wood accents, textured neutrals, and a hint of black. I made the wreath for above the crib, and love how it adds a whimsical element and greenery.
Our first purchases for the room were the round jute rug and macrame crib skirt. I fell in love with them a few years ago and thought that they’d be a great way to set the tone for the room.
The hardest purchase was definitely our glider. There are so many out there to choose from and we had a hard time finding one that was the perfect size, height (for hubby), colour, and silhouette. It was the last thing we purchased for the room and I am happy we waited until we found the right one – and it was on sale, to boot!
We worked on this room slowly over the whole pregnancy. We acquired and added small details here and there and one piece would help inspire the next. I originally thought I wanted a larger dresser, but we went with a smaller one. I think the room might have felt too Tetris’d with furniture had we have chosen the larger size. It’s not a very big room, after all!
A few favourite details in the room are the agate knobs on the closet doors, the wooden village and the pom pom curtains.
I had a bit too much fun creating this space, and am so giddy to see it all put together! My husband, Phill, put in hours of hard work painting, cleaning, assembling, and installing everything. So much love went into this space, and I can’t wait to see our little one grow up in it!

My little boys nursery. Going for a clean and modern interior design.
I wanted my little babe’s birthday to be COZY and mainly outdoors so the kids could play! SO, I made a s’mores bar for kids to roast marshmallow’s, a hot chocolate stand and of course a fully stocked sweets table! The theme was lumberjack and everything was handmade by me! My grandmother helped with the log cake which was ah-mazing and fit in perfectly with the theme of his birthday party. Such a hit!
On a perfect sunny day, forty of Sandra’s closest friends and family showered her with love in this classically themed fete.
We kept her invite pretty and subtle but gave a nod to the timeless moon theme by pairing it with a playful stargazing envelope. It was a classy affair with buttery blooms, lush greens and oak bentwood chairs filling her sister’s spacious home in Fullerton, California. Guests sipped on Blue(berry) Moon wine and bubbly while mingling and snapping photos with the mama-to-be.
When it came to the sweets, the details in the desserts by JenTeeBakes were impeccable and not to mention, so delicious! I carried the same beautiful tone of blue in the dessert tablecloth by hand dying napkins and crafting marbled moon place cards for each place setting. Also, tying in with the theme, each table number sign bore an adorable moon nursery rhyme. They were written beautifully in metallic gold and blue ombre.
To keep the event light and airy, I put a modern twist on the iconic vintage paper moon backdrop by building a charming fringe paper version. In the end, the shower turned out to be pretty and just a bit whimsical – a perfect analogy of the mama to be!

When we found out we were expecting a little girl, I knew exactly what I envisioned for the sweet nursery. All things soft, elegant, and feminine. I wanted the room to make you feel at ease the second you walked in. I also wanted sophistication, but with hints of little girl coming through in the details.
This is my third boy and second nursery in this room in less than 4 years, so I knew I wanted to change things up without having to repaint the entire room or purchase new furniture. I also wanted to make this a room that could grow with him. I found inspiration from different striped rooms/furniture/decor, pretty much wherever I saw a stripe pattern I liked. Then I played around with thickness of tape…using thin tape for some stripes and then even doubling up on thicker tape for different weight and contrast among the stripes. I used a peacock blue/green paint for the stripes and then last second added in some light grey to soften things up a bit. I found a super affordable and super soft, plush rug with a mix of blue and green at Ikea. Painted an old pegboard to give it some life and kept accessories very minimal to maximize space in the small room.
This Nursery Room was designed for Backstreet Boy AJ & his wife Rochelle McLean. We started off with a pink and leopard color palette, lending itself to a feminine glam concept with a bit of sass!
We wanted this room to be transitional for Ava as she grows, so instead of choosing pieces with a Juvenile look, we selected furnishings with a more classic style and convertible functions that she can use and will love for years to come. AJ & Rochelle were so wonderful to work with and they are incredibly happy with the finished product!
This is our sweet Baby Boy’s aqua, gray and white nursery. My husband and I had so much fun putting everything together. We hope he loves it as much as we do.
An eclectic mix of old and new are brought together to create a stylish yet functional nursery.
This nursery was a labor of love and I had so much fun decorating it. I started gathering inspiration months before I was even pregnant. Pinterest and Project Nursery were instrumental in helping me find the inspiration I needed. By the time we found out we were expecting I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I created an inspiration board and began searching for the perfect pieces for my dream nursery. My budget was pretty tight so I decided to invest in a couple of items and the rest would be a combination of DIY Projects, Thrift store finds and gifts from friends and family. My mother and I both created artwork for the room and just about everything had a personal touch which was really special.
When we found out we were pregnant with our THIRD child, we were surprised, but, even more surprised to find out she was a girl! We have two boys, and I’ve never really been into pinks and frills, so my original idea was to go with oranges and hot pinks. I wasn’t planning to put much effort into her room because I knew we didn’t have the budget or the space for it.
But, our baby was born 14 weeks early in December (she was due in April) and she weighed less than 1.5 lbs. It was a tough time for all of us. And, when I met her two days after she was born, I knew she was our princess. And, all I kept thinking my little princess had to fight to come home, and when she did, I wanted to have to have something beautiful (and girly) ready for her. And, despite our very small budget and small space, I was determined to give her the room she deserved.
As soon as I found out I was having a boy, I knew that I wanted a modern nursery with bold, fun colors. I’m pleased that we were able to create exactly what I wanted for Graham’s room on a relatively low budget. Lots of love and DIY projects went into this room!
This is my daughter’s nursery and the first room project I’ve ever planned.
We had a lovely day for our daughter’s Floral First Soiree birthday celebration! The dainty touches of little felt florals made it a whimsical and sweet theme for a first birthday! These florals will be incorporated into her nursery and big girl bedroom which makes them all the better! Our little Wildflower has made her first trip around the sun, and what a great ride it’s been!
For Eloise’s 1st birthday party I wanted to use pinks and aquas (like her nursery) along with some gold. As I was pinning pink and gold decor ideas I came across a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star birthday party and thought that theme went perfectly with the colors I wanted to use! After having THREE boys in a row, I wanted a completely feminine nursery for our new baby girl. So naturally I chose pink (in all shades) as the main accent color. I had two challenges with this nursery: 1) We are currently renting our home so I could not change the wall color or put too many holes in the walls, and 2) My husband just finished 12 years of university (ahhh, student loans) so my budget was a bit limited. Luckily the wall color was already a neutral grey which works with the colors of the room, and I only made one significant hole in the wall (for the mirror). The wall gallery frames are plastic (although they look like wood) and are really lightweight, as are the other wall decor items, so I was able to hang everything with straight pins and 3M Command Strips. As far as budget goes, we already had the crib and dresser with the mirror attached so that helped a lot, and I love DIY projects and shopping for good deals so the rest of the room came together without having to spend a fortune. My two splurges were the chandelier and the glider-rocker, which were fairly reasonalbly priced anyways.
