A wonderful sophisticated family with modern tastes were looking to update their daughter's nursery into something more suitable for the first boy in the family.
Design Inspiration:
The color inspirations for the room came from the silk scarf (it was originally framed and hung in the guest room) and the Smarties rug. We wanted to use the Smarties rug somewhere in the house and it was either here or in the playroom.
Decorating Style:
This family's style is minimal. The predominant colors in their home are white and grey and they wanted their children's rooms to flow well and not necessarily stand out too much in contrast to the design of the rest of the home.

Favorite Items:
My favorite item is definitely the rug. If you have the ability to splurge on a nice and colorful statement rug in any room...go for it. It will make all the difference.
Advice:
Use neutral colors for the walls, bedding, and furniture and add some pop with artwork and a rug. The room won't seem overwhelmingly colorful but it won't be too monotone and neutral either.

This nursery is beautiful! I really like the colours. I’m currently expecting but we don’t want to know the gender of the baby. I really like that with a few more accessories it could easily become very boyish or girly! And the giraffe is the cutest, I really hope it is a stencil.. I can’t wait to get all of our stuff out of self storage and get going on doing my little ones room. :)
