- A Project For: Josh
- Age: 7
- Location: Suffern, NY

Description:
I needed to design a space for Josh, a 7 year old boy. The mother wanted the space to be somewhat transitional. The colors should work well with more than one theme, and he should feel great in there when he is 7 as well as when he's 13. Josh wanted lots of photos of past events on the wall.

Design Inspiration:
I was going for a clean boyish look. I stripped and refaced the cute chest in red, so I had a starting point. I was thinking that the colors work well with a lot of themes like nautical, western, cottage, sports, etc. Josh will have lots of choice in adding his personal touches to his room. Once we settled on the colors the accessories fell into place.

Decorating Style:
Very clean and bold. I like to leave areas of choice for later redecorating. I use colors and designs that work well with both traditional and contemporary furnishing. I incorporate a lot of the child's personality and style in their space.
-
Project Details:
The furniture was stripped and refaced. The bedding is a Blooming Babies set from my exclusive line, available on my site www.Designersnursery.com.
-
Favorite Items:
The refaced red chest. Old yet new!
-
Advice:
Don't be afraid to experiment with color and be bold. Use one wall for a center focus and be creative. If you have busy walls, then go solid with the bedding. If the bedding has a lot of pattern and texture then do less on the walls. Hang paraphernalia of the child so that their room feels and looks like it's familiar turf.
