Jasper’s Room

Description

We live in a small, old home.  Luckily my husband is in the construction business and he is extremely handy!  We completely gutted the room!  My husband put wood on walls and ceiling,  made the trim, he did a wash paint finish on the walls, painted the ceiling, layed laminate wood flooring, built-ins in closet, and built-in shelf!!!  I think he did an amazing job!!  We LOVE this room!!

Design Inspiration

I did not want a theme because I knew that I would get tired of it quickly!!  I also wanted something that could be gender neutral (in case future baby happens to be a GIRL) since my children will have to share a room!  I wanted the room to feel calm, cheery, earthy, eclectic, and fun!  My husband says it looks beachy!!!

Decorating Style

Eclectic!!!  I love little cottages and bungalows!!  I love antiques and modern too!!!  I also like country and contemporary!!  So my style is a big mixture!

Project Details

Well, like I mentioned before this was a huge DIY project for my husband since I was about 7 months preggo when we started!  My mom refinished the dresser, my aunt made the frame for the mirror, and I painted/collaged the owl picture!  The rug and side table came from Target.com, the anywhere chair is from PotteryBarnKids.com.

This is the most beautiful and creative room I've seen! I love its character and I LOVE that you put a Christmas tree in there for him. We don't have the space for a full sized tree, but we plan on putting a mini tree in there when the time comes. =)

I totally agree. Those cabin-like walls are absolutely awesome. The solid-wood furniture, too. Your little boy's such a lucky guy!
