Sweet Blush Pink Nursery

Light, calming, with a touch of vintage; that’s what I was aiming for in this nursery. I never considered myself a pink kind of gal until we found out we were having a baby girl and I suddenly found myself drawn to all things pink; blush pink to be exact! The room inspiration came from a nursery I once spotted in Country Living. I love that this space is a combination of new and old with a few DIY pieces scattered throughout (like the no-sew drop cloth crib skirt). I’m so pleased with how it turned out! Colorful Girly Nursery

I was talking with my husband, Anthony, of how my mom would go all out and decorate my rooms and I couldn’t imagine doing anything different for this sweet little girl of mine. I hope as she grows older, she always remembers the love and passion I put into creating rooms for her like the fond memories I have with my mom. And please feel free to pin and share this room on your social media, we are so proud of how it turned out!

Shabby Chic Baby Girl Nursery

This was our last baby and because of that we decided we wanted the surprise of a lifetime so we held off on finding out the sex until the birth. Mia was born on April 19th, 2017 and because we waited to find out if we were having a girl or a boy I held off on doing and nursery. Boy am I glad I did! My mother and I worked so hard and poured so much love into every detail of Mia’s shabby chic nursery. I painted and distressed our first babes old crib and dresser, hand crafted the paper flowers on the signs myself and much of the decor (i.e. the green glass and the shutters) was actually used in my wedding so this room is special in so many ways. This room is so calm and relaxing! I couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect space for my baby girl.

Flower Garden Nursery

For this project I had to decide how I was going to turn my son’s nursery into a nursery fit for a girl on a budget. After having a boy I knew I wanted to use pink and gold with colorful flowers. That’s how I came up with the idea to turn my son’s woodland nursery into a flower garden nursery. Artwork from Katie Daisy was perfect for the space and inspired much of the design. I searched Etsy for unique items such as the paper flowers which I found to be a great statement piece and also safe to hang over the crib. I have a love for bees and was able to find this unique bee mobile that was absolutely perfect. I had moved the existing dresser into my son’s new room so I had to find a new dresser. I knew I wanted something very feminine. Lucky for me, my mother had this antique dresser she was getting rid of so my sister and I decided to paint it for the nursery. As a final touch I put gold knobs on the changing table and closet doors and floral knobs on the dresser. It’s surprising what a difference the little details make. I love the mix of antique and modern in the room.

Elina’s Pretty in Pink Nursery

In the Bengali culture, some believe that its bad luck to buy things for the baby before its born. So I had to start on this nursery project after the little miss Elina’s arrival. As a first time mother little did I know that it was going to be next to impossible to get anything done with a new born around! After five months of painting walls, redoing the closets, picking out furniture and accessories, the baby room was complete! It was priceless looking at a completed baby room that took a lot of personalities to bring together.
I wanted her nursery to be a peaceful place, designed for ease of use and comfort. Every little accessory had a personal meaning to me– from the majestic swan , to the wonder woman and the personalized little wall arts.

A Petal Pink Nursery for Summertime Arrival

An expecting mother was eager to get her daughter’s nursery complete before her summer arrival! Unsure of where to start, this expectant mom called on me to transform the room with less than 4 months to go. Along with a modest budget, I was able to transform this unused space with a fresh Petal Pink color for the walls and which blackout curtains to graze the window sill. Sturdy furnishings that can transition to toddler beds and beyond and removable changing station atop the dresser make the furnishings one this baby girl can grow up with. All the while keeping in mind plenty of play space to crawl around, a spot for mommy-and-me feeding time, and soothing lighting throughout make this room a perfect set up for a new baby girl.

Sweet Pastel Nursery

I decided the first thing I needed to do was come up with a color palette. I settled on grey, navy pinks, whites, sage, and lavender. I knew I wanted the room to feel feminine, colorful, and light. I commissioned an abstract painting from my favorite artist: http://kellikroneberger.com. After that things started to come together. My husband actually picked out the brass crib which I love! I also knew that I wanted a chandelier in the bedroom but since my husband is tall and the ceiling are not very high, I had to find something that was flush mount which was a challenge. The one we found if just perfect and was worth the search. The dressers are from my favorite antique shop. The unicorn rocker is also one of my other favorite accents. It adds a touch of fun to the room.

Floral Nursery

As soon as I found out our last little one, our little caboose was a girl I knew I wanted her nursery to be floral, bold and very girlie. I had been dreaming of a floral wallpaper nursery and couldn’t wait to see it come together. I wanted a gold crib and when I couldn’t find the perfect one I employed my sweet husband to paint our once blue Jenny Lind crib. I love the way it turned out. I wanted a mix of vintage and antique and love the way the antique dresser turned out. I wanted to find one in its original state and was so excited when my mom found this one at a local antique store. Pulling in the antique stroller from sister’s room was the perfect addition above her beautiful name sign from House of Belonging.

Portia’s First Impressions Inspired Nursery

Two things about my family are for certain: 1) We are “Do It Yourselfers,” there’s no project we won’t attempt; and 2) We adore Lilly Pulitzer. After a recent move from Florida to Ohio we weren’t about to shy away from those bright costal colors and felt a sweet and joyful Lilly inspired nursery, full of personal touches, was a must for our sweet daughter, Portia.

We enjoyed many DIY projects in Portia’s nursery from the curtains (thanks, Mom!), to the tiny touch of ribbon on the crib skirt, to painting the dresser we found on Craig’s List with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, all the way to the beautiful changing-pad box created by my handy husband; our love of “DIY” projects is abundant in this sweet, sweet room. And, I can’t tell you how many tiny gold dots I painted on the round mirrors and the frames; it was most certainly a labor of love.

The inspiration came in three places for this project: 1) that bright and beautiful Lilly inspired fabric; 2) the gold on Portia’s crib; and 3) repeating circles.
I touched on our love of Lilly and joyful, happy colors earlier, but the GOLD! Oh, the GOLD! I love, I mean l-o-v-e gold! Our entire wedding was drenched in gold glitter, thanks to hubby for humoring me, I undoubtably drew inspiration for the gold from Portia’s crib – which took me forever to pick out – I repeated that gold pattern throughout the nursery.  On the frames, changing-pad box, mirrors, and pouf. If I could convince my family to allow me to paint gold the nail heads on our oh so comfy glider, they’d be gold too, no luck thus far.
The repeating circles throughout the nursery seen in the mirrors, the ceiling medallion, the rounded edges on the crib, gold grommets on the curtains, and the rug all came from our observation that this room had just too many straight lines. Those straight lines were in the brick, the floor boards, and the very square room that it was, and so I wanted to add lots of circles to break up that rigidity.
Our home is antebellum – we knew it was important to respect the home’s traditional look of exposed brick and original floors and meld those fresh and exciting colors for Portia. In addition to that, we had done Bridget’s room (Portia’s elder sister) just down the hall in the same Lilly inspired First Impressions print, only with pinks, teals, and greens (photos in progress). The use of the same print, although bold colors, provides some continuity to the look of the children’s bedrooms – which I felt was important.
I hope you enjoy browsing photos of the room belonging to our “Sweet P,” as we adoringly refer to Portia. It was so fun for us, and as my husband so sweetly said “Being in P’s room makes me happy.” We hope it makes you happy, too.

Hartley’s Light and Airy Shiplap Nursery

I’ve wanted a shiplap wall (or walls!!) in my house since I saw the first episode of Fixer Upper a couple of years ago…and a sweet little nursery seemed like the perfect excuse to make that happen! My other two kids’ nurseries had themes and were very well thought-out, but this one…not so much. All I knew was that I wanted it to be light, bright and airy…and when I started incorporating things that fit that description, it all just kind of fell into place!
Everything about Hartley’s nursery makes me happy and I hope she feels the same way when she gets bigger!

Mint, Blush and Gold Nursery on a Budget

My sweet Charlotte’s nursery was a project of love! I had a fairly limited budget for her nursery (hellooo, second child!) but I still wanted to create a beautiful space. I purchased a few things, rehabbed some older pieces and got crafty for the rest!

When planning Charlotte’s nursery, I knew that I wanted her room to be bright and whimsical. I was drawn to mint, blush and of course, gold! I also wanted prints that communicated strength, determination, beauty and our love for Jesus. Although she was a super relaxed baby when I was pregnant, Charlotte is truly my wild child! Her energy matches the room we designed for her!

Here are some pictures of her mint, blush and gold, “wild & free” nursery. Sources/project information included!

We purchased the crib here for $199! The book holder is from a thrift store, then was painted and I added a monogram decal. The Moses basket is an RH baby hand me down from Avery!

The white and rattan hamper was a find from Home Goods – I think it is technically just a storage bin, but it worked perfectly for her hamper!

Gold Monogram Pillow // Dutaillier Glider (recovered in Nate Berkus for Joanns fabric, no exact match online, but I love this one)  // Ikea shelves with braces spray painted gold

The night stand was a piece from our old guest bedroom and was painted a light peach color.

I made the flower covered “C” and the hanging mobile! Both were super easy projects! I found the wooden “C” from Hobby Lobby and covered it with Hobby Lobby green moss. I then hot glued on faux flowers that matched the colors of the room. In order to get it to stand up, I had to use this kind of picture stand.

The mobile was also super easy! I took the inside ring of an embroidery hoop, and tied several different types of ribbon around it until the wood was completely covered. Then I tied three longer strings equidistant from one another, and gathered them in the middle to secure it to the ceiling. If you are looking for a cute non-DIY mobile…this one by BlaBla was top of my list!

The gallery wall prints came from Hobby Lobby, Francescas, Target & Etsy (Fruit of the Spirit Print here)

I got all of the shelf styling pieces from Hobby Lobby, my baby shower or vintage stores!

I love the color this rough edge fabric banner brings to the room! This is one of the easiest DIY projects because you just tie fabric strips (however wide you want them to be), to a string, and then hang!

Modern Nursery with a Pop of Pink

I had a lot of fun designing my baby’s nursery. I wanted the room to feel peaceful, light and airy with a pop of color. I chose white and light grey for the primary colors, and we waited to add either blue or pink touches until the baby arrived. Once we found out that we would be bringing home a little girl, Ellen, the pops of pink were easy to add in. We had the crib still from when our boys were tiny so we purchased some new furniture to complete the room. I bought the rug first and love it so much. It’s really soft, and our little girl spends a lot of time rolling around on it. I agonized over the perfect dresser and think we found a great match to the existing crib. My favorite pieces in the nursery are the flamingo prints from Etsy and the alphabet print that we received as a gift when my older son was a baby. It’s such a bright and sunny room that we love to sit and play in. I plan to add more decorative touches as she grows, because I think the room will transition well into a little girl’s room. I’m constantly on the search for a really large painting but haven’t yet found the perfect match.

Charlotte’s Jolie Wallpaper Nursery

This nursery was decorated around the Jolie Wallpaper. When I found out I was having a girl and the moment I saw this wallpaper I knew I had to have it! I wanted to design a nursery where my daughter could grow up in. I did not want her to feel like she needed a “big girl” room at 5 years old. My husband and I really enjoying decorating together so we spent a lot of time looking for just the right pieces. We also love to mix “high and low”. We spent many Sunday’s roaming around Home Goods. One of my favorite things in the nursery is the book nook. For one of my baby showers the invitation stated “we have one request it won’t be hard. Please bring a book instead of card”. Baby Charlotte now has a large library of books that we can read to her as she grows up. My favorite book is an original copy from 1952 of Charlotte’s Web that my husband gave to me as an early Mother’s Day present. I am beyond happy with the way Charlotte’s nursery turned out and I cannot wait to see her grow up in it.

West New York, NJ Eclectic Nursery

My daughter’s room was inspired by my past travels and my eclectic aesthetic. I started with a neutral wall color, then added a Kilim rug, which I bought in Instanbul, and peppered the same colors form the rug around the room. Most of the furniture is either in white wood or natural woods. The leather pulls from the ikea dresser was my own diy project. The painting was commissioned by an artist taking the colors from the rug and the tassel wall hanging was made by her mom.

Sweet Baby Girl Nursery

Once I found out I was having a baby girl, I knew I wanted to stay within the pink, gray and white color pallet with hints of gold. I had so many vision boards going for a not too girly or not too baby type of room. The first thing I knew I had to have was the chandelier and rug. I designed everything else around these two items. I always envisioned having more of a rustic style type furniture which would tie in nicely with the chandelier I found and our wood floors.
This is now my favorite room in our whole house. I find myself daily just sitting in the glider thinking about how this room is going to get so much use and love in just a few weeks! It’s amazing to see how my vision came together. It honestly came out better than I thought it would. I am pretty much obsessed and can’t wait for our daughter to get here!

Baby Girl Nursery

When getting inspiration for our baby girls nursery I of course went straight to Pinterest and and pinned tons of ideas. That’s when I discovered Project Nursery and looked at tons of nurseries for inspiration. I narrowed it down to a lot of light pink and greenish type nurseries. I wanted something light and calm and super feminine.
I purchased many of the decorations from HomeGoods, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby.
The night stand I purchased off Craigslist for 20 bucks and my husband painted it. The ladder with the blankets and quilts my husband built and painted himself. Not wanting to get rid of the desk I had in the room to begin because it meant extra storage we repainted the desk and dresser from coral to the light pink color and kept the gold handles and knobs.

Ethereal Nursery

After learning we were expecting a baby girl, I experienced an indescribable feeling, as if I were floating on air. I immediately began to work on designing her nursery and wanted a light and airy feeling. Ethereal means “light, airy, almost too perfect for this world”, and I used these words and the definition to guide my design choices. I wanted the central point of the room to display a round fur rug to imitate a fluffy cloud that mirrored the circular shape of the lighting fixture directly above it. I wanted stark white walls to accentuate natural light pouring in from the windows to contrast the glossy light pink ceiling that would make anyone’s mouth water by looking at it because it looks as sweet as candy. Whimsical light and airy curtains that fool the eye with their thick, blackout panels underneath are gorgeous and highly effective for a nursery. With all this “fluffiness” I wanted to incorporate an element of strength, so my husband crafted a solid wood wall hanging above the changing table. A nice balance with all the other soft features. Finally, the highLIGHT of the room is our daughter’s name embedded in a floral arrangement above her crib. This DIY protect was surprisingly simple, fun, and inexpensive.

Sofia’s Gold and Coral Nursery

When my husband and I found out we were having a little girl I was excited to design a nursery full of color with cute feminine touches.  I am a huge fan of anything with glitter and tutu’s which I pulled into my design.
I spent a lot of time on Pinterest looking through varies boards and pulling them together.  I had a blast making the ribbon banner for above the crib as well as the hair clip holder.
I wanted her room to be a place that she still loves years from now.
