If you want to stay neutral, pick a nice warm but light tan. You can easily add an accent wall in the blue or chocolate that is not too kid specific. The best way to pick paint is to match it up to your fabric instead of trying to guess. If you like the way it looks in the fabric most likely you'll like it on the wall. I still recommend testing a small area and seeing how you like it up on the wall. Every home has such different lighting and that can really have a huge effect on how you view the color. Also if you want to add some fun elements…look at Etsy for some removable vinyl wall decals that compliment your theme. You can order them in just about any color you like.
I'm currently working on designing my son Cole's (age 22 months) new room (we're moving him out of the nursery for baby #2 due in May). I have a few elements I'm working with in the colors of bright green, powder blue, chocolate brown and orange. What I'm looking for is a few suggestions on a paint color to tie all these things together. The room I am decorating is the former master bedroom (we only have 2 bedrooms on the main floor) and I'd like to make it not too busy since and an adult friendly color since there is a possibility we may be moving in the next year and potential buyers may be looking at this room as a master bedroom once again. The room is currently a peachy taupe. Here are a few photos of the room elements I have to help others out.
The blinds window treatments are a chocolate brown which I'd like to keep since they are room darkening shades and there is a streetlight right outside the windows. I'm open to an accent wall or anything else that could easily be reverted to something adult friendly in the future. My son loves Jungle animals and I want to make this space special for him yet keep things simple.
