In the under $50 category, I have two favorites. First, I love our exclusive wipes cases in either the heart or fish scale pattern. I adore these because they are practical (let’s face it, wipes are a must in every diaper bag) and fashionable. I have a wipes case in every bag I own. The second is the silhouette plate and place mat. This is a personalized gift that all the moms in my store flip for. Simple and classic, it will be useful as well as a keepsake.

In the $50-$100 range, there is a ton to choose from. The first is one of my best-selling gifts of all time. A tbc exclusive, the custom barrette holder is the perfect gift for a little girl, and you can customize the colors to match your decor. The second item I adore in this price range is our chevron blanket in our signature colors.

Our $100 and over price range has some fabulous goodies as well. My very favorite is a signature ensemble—the bean’s bundle. This baby gift set is made up of twelve hand-selected items appropriate for each stage of baby’s first year.

One of our most extravagant items is our hand painted chevron table and chair set. This custom set can be painted to fit any color scheme. Designed by our own artists, this exclusive set is sure to be the hit of any shower.

We relaunched in May because it’s the month of mothers! Not only do we celebrate mother’s day, but Postpartum Support International has named May, National Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month. To help support this important cause, 2% of every the bean’s closet sale will always be donated to Postpartum Support International, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote awareness, prevention and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing in every country worldwide.

They say that the cobbler’s child never has shoes, so what happens when a nursery designer’s little girl is born? Well, it’s the opposite of the age-old proverb—this cobbler’s child gets the Louboutins of nurseries. We wanted to share some of the images and elements of Alessia’s little lady’s tiny nest.

Blending white, gray and yellow—with a cheeky pop of navy—we worked to create a space that was both calm and serene but also cheerful and bright. We hope that sweet and special dreams, as well as happy and precious memories, always fill this room.

1. Living in New York City, space is at a premium. The Stokke brand caters to the constraints of the city without compromising on design or functionality. The Stokke Sleepi was the first item added to our mood board.

2. Compact yet functional, the Stokke Care Changing Table holds everything you need in an easy to reach location.

3. When looking for yellow and gray wall art, the Positive Art Print by Honeyboo caught our eye, but the words captured our hearts.

4. The walls were brightened with Dove and Sunshine paint by Serena and Lily—and yes, we love the names of the shades as much as the colors themselves.

5. Throw pillows complete a nest; this labyrinth pillow by Dwell Studio brings an energy to the room, and the cloud-shaped pillow, from Blabla Kids, was bought in France with this little room in mind.

6. We love the Joya Rocker, and the luxurious feeling of the microsuede fabric eases the hours spent rocking in it.

7.  Land of Nod’s “Not a Peep” crib bedding is both cute and calming, and we can’t help but hope that the name will encourage sleep.

8. We like the idea of continuing the stripes of the bedding at a larger scale in the Olin Gray Rug from Crate and Barrel.

9. Although the little one won’t be using the Tripp Trap Chair for a while, we love the rich, dark blue color. It’ll be used as a shelf until the little tush is ready to take its seat.

The store was buzzing with energy as local designers, customers, media and the team from FLOR’s headquarters in Chicago mingled and celebrated their second west coast location. It was terrific to meet the launch team in person and hear about their very busy schedule with back-to-back store openings. With eight stores nationwide and four more (pay attention Georgetown, Boston and West Hollywood) opening in the next few months, FLOR is really growing. Smilebooth was also on hand to capture everyone’s pose with a little added FLOR flair.

The cool industrial space was stocked with the newest styles like the Mod Zebra, Mod Cow and Hey Jack. We love FLOR for the nursery, big kids’ bedrooms and playrooms because of its versatility, easy installation and low VOC.

Melisa and I both have FLOR in our homes, and when we like something, we aren’t shy about letting you know. In fact, Melisa just laid down her FLOR tiles this weekend for the start of her “pink playroom” makeover.
