Luckily, the Oshi Mat came to my rescue.

The idea for the Oshi Mat came about when a mom/the creator began attending baby classes with her child. Moms would throw down blankets on the floor for their infants, but she wanted something that was easier to keep clean and provided more cushion for her baby. In fact, the product’s name, Oshi, is her son’s nickname.

The mat is made of lightweight foam and rolls up and tucks into a carrying case for easy travel. The mat’s shape makes it easy for you to sit comfortably and interact with your baby.

You can even put multiple Oshi Mats together to make a larger play area for older babies on the move.

Whether you use the Oshi Mat for developmental classes, tummy time, mommy and baby bonding time or just as a safe spot to sit is up to you. I’m looking forward to the peace of mind that my little guy will have a comfy spot to sit on our hardwood floors.

Honest.com offers affordable (and downright cute!) non-toxic diapers and eco-friendly family products delivered right to your doorstep. “I’ve spent way too many hours researching products and driving around, trying to find safer, eco-friendly options for my kids,” explained Jessica Alba, President and Founder. “I knew that most people didn’t have that kind of time, nor the means to pay the premium prices. Parents are able to curate bundles online for delivery. I had the opportunity to meet the beautiful celebrity mom of two and hear more about her freshly launched company with fellow Co-Founder, Christopher Gavigan. Christopher is a renowned environmentalist, author, former CEO of Healthy Child, Healthy World and father. The evening was hosted and moderated by the fashionable Nicole Feliciano, of Momtrends, and most of New York City’s top mom bloggers were accounted for. Jessica and Christopher graciously passed out their personal business cards and shared insight into their brand’s mission, personal stories and more.

The lovely evening concluded with a handful of lucky attendees winning very cool Honest Company Diaper Bags. Jessica explained how she designed the diaper bag herself and that she did it with her husband in mind. As multi-tasking moms, we know what it’s like to juggle the baby, the kids and their stuff all at once. And when Jessica’s husband offers to help her, let’s just say carrying her girly diaper bag probably isn’t his first choice. While I did not win the gorgeous, gender-neutral bag, savvy Project Nursery friend Julia Beck, of Forty Weeks, offered her winnings to our wonderful PN readers. How awesome is she? One thing I can’t decide is how to transport these kids around. Should I go with what I already have—a stroller and a baby carrier? Or opt for a two-seater stroller that allows me to attach my infant car seat?

Okay, I need to be honest. I totally want the Baby Jogger City Select. It seems awesome with all its possible configurations, and I would be able to transport both kids around long after kiddo #2 reaches a weight that starts breaking my back in the baby carrier. I’m just worried about the price tag of the stroller ($499 before necessary add-ons). Originally, I thought about buying it for my first son for this very reason, but I talked myself out of spending the extra money and went with the City Mini since I wasn’t even sure when kiddo #2 would come into the picture. Ahh, hindsight… What did you all do with your two young kids while running around town?

My second issue is sleeping. My two-year-old is still in his crib. We are also in the process of moving later this month. I hate to move him to a new house, yank away his crib AND bring home a new baby all within a couple months. That seems pretty traumatic to me even as an adult. Plus, I have to admit, I love having my son safe and sound in his little crib, and I’m kind of terrified of transitioning him into a big-boy bed.

So should I go with a crib/bassinet combo in the beginning and bring in the big-boy bed a little bit later? Or make the leap to big bed before kiddo #2 arrives so the crib is ready?

It’s a huge bag, and as a mom of two, it’s exactly what I need. I often get so frustrated by the lack of space in a diaper bag—only fitting the bare essentials like a changing pad and bottle.
