I believe life should be lived with a cherry on top. I dreamed up my event styling company But First, Party! when I realized that obsessively collecting washi tape, fantasizing over frosting and developing carpal tunnel from Pinterest-pinning were not “normal” things. My design philosophy is that “the revel is in the details.” No special touch is too small. Parties that are personal are always my favorite, even a tired theme can be brought to life by thinking outside of the box—and then wrapping it up with a bow, of course!
Since becoming a mom, I’ve found such joy in celebrating life’s occasions, using every milestone as a chance to create lasting memories. I’ve also found new joy in champagne and leftover birthday cake! But most of all, my son has reminded me what it’s like to see the world through a child’s eyes—to make a wish, blow out the candles and then eat as many sweets as possible!
