“Sound the Alarm” Firehouse Birthday Party

Sound the alarm! What little boy wouldn’t love to be a firefighter for the day? For my little mister’s 3rd birthday we headed on over to the Westmont Fire Company in Haddon Heights, NJ for a fun filled afternoon he and his guests would never forget.
Rebekah of A Blissful Nest designed the most adorable set of party printables that incorporated bright, vibrant colors with a modern touch. With traditional firehouse colors of red and black and a hint of yellow, everything from the invite to the cupcake toppers to the favor tags really made the party “pop” inside the firehouse.
As soon as the kids got to the firehouse, they were allowed to check out the rows of engines with the firefighters. The kids got to sit up front and “drive” and had a blast checking out all the different types of equipment the firefighters use. The men of the engine company couldn’t have been more wonderful with the kids and showed them all how fast they had to get dressed during a fire alarm. The kids even got to try on some of the equipment!
After the kids met with all the firefighters it was “break time”. To make it an easy lunch, I got bright yellow lunch bags from the party store and filled them with simple treats such as yogurt, applesauce, goldfish, raisins and a water bottle. We finished up the party with cake and cupcakes topped with the most adorable fondant toppers from Cakes and Kids! They matched the theme perfectly!
Each child was sent home with a favor bag that included a delish chocolate lollipop from Suckers by Steph shaped as a fire engine, a personalized cup from I Have A Favor and a decorated sugar cookie from Batches. The engine company also gave each child a fire safety bag that included a coloring book, a fire hat and other goodies!
The best part of the whole day was the family ride through town in the fire engine. What 3 year old can say they rode in a real fire truck! It was the best surprise from the engine company and one we will never forget!

Glam Camping Birthday

What better way to end summer and welcome the fall than with a glam camping party! In celebration of my niece’s 6th birthday we decided to throw a glam camping party for her and her friends. The girls had so much fun roasting marshmallows, hanging out in the tent we made and catching fireflies at dusk. The best part of this party….it can definitely be brought indoors in the cooler months! For the centerpiece of our table, I collected branches and spray painted them purple and placed them in a terra cotta pot we got for a few dollars at the craft store. At the ends of some of the branches I tied small strips of fabric we used throughout the party and stuck some mini marshmallows on the end. It made for a rustic feel, with a some glam thrown in :) For desserts we had vanilla cupcakes we topped with edible fondant toppers from Cakes and Kids, caramel popcorn was our “midnight snack” and Fun Favors supplied the most adorable cookies that coordinated perfectly with our theme. Some of them even had edible glitter on them! We also filled berry baskets for each girl, supplied by Party On! Designs, with graham crackers, marshmallows and Hershey’s chocolate bars for s’more making during the party. I Have A Favor supplied personalized canteens for all the girls. During the party they filled them with “spring water” and then took them home as a party favor. We also sent each girl home with a mini mason jar filled with “s’more’s for later”, a mix we created using mini marshmallows, M&M’s and golden grahams cereal. During the party the girls loved hanging out in the tent my dad actually built using pieces of lumber from the local hardware store. It was great as it was tall enough for the girls to even stand in! We draped two queen sized sheets that coordinated with our theme over the tent and secured the ends to the ground. We then placed a coordinating throw rug on the ground so the girls had a comfy place to sit while playing in the tent! The girls loved going glam while camping in the backyard. It’s a great theme for girls of all ages and was a great way to end the summer too!

Preppy Pink Whale Party

Since my niece was a summer baby we decided to go all out with a super fun preppy whale theme using the colors navy and pink, getting inspiration from Vineyard Vines. The party was a small with just family and friends. The birthday girl truly had a blast! We set up a small dessert table with the cutest whale and beach ball looking cake pops from KC Pop Art & Parties. They even made and supplied the cake pop holder, which was a white wooden box with painted hot pink stripes. They then cut out heavy pieces of cardstock to create waves. The cake pops were the center of our table AND absolutely delish!!! And extras we had we displayed in mason jars as accent pieces to our table. Since there were a few small kids there, we made mini fruit skewers with blueberries and strawberries (sticking to the pink and navy color scheme). We also served cupcakes to all the guests with printables designed by Party On! Designs. The birthday girl even had her very own smash cake that we actually purchased at our local grocery store and had them place a ribbon border around. We topped it with a mini flag pennant and had Party On! Designs create a matching birthday hat. I (Michele of Sweet Threads Clothing Co) made a matching bib for the birthday girl to wear. She LOVED her cake!!! As a backdrop to our dessert table, we took pieces of hot and light pink crepe paper that we cut all the same length and pinned them to a ribbon we strung to the top of a white beadboard. We then hung a birthday banner across it. It was super cute and added an additional pop of color. To finish off the table we added some pink flowers we cut from our garden in white blume boxes we wrapped with navy robe. Each of the party guests left with a sand bucket we filled with bubbles, goldfish snacks and a custom made sippy cup from I Have A Favor. The birthday girls shirt was made by Sweet Threads Clothing Co and Birdie Baby Boutique made to match the most adorable headband. Danbury Lane created a tutu in navy and hot pink to complete the outfit. She looked adorable on her first birthday!!

Sweet Spa Birthday Party

When I asked my daughter, Emma what kind of party she wanted for her 5th birthday she immediately said she wanted a spa party! Instead of spending oodles of money at one of the kids salons, I decided to have it at home. Since the party was in the late afternoon we decided to have a sweets table filled with delicious treats for the girls to enjoy after their spa treatments.Amber of Party On! Designs created a fun and girlie set of party printables in pinks and aquas to give a touch of glamour to the at home event. We served store bought cupcakes, decorated spa mask cookies from Stephanie J’s and pink macarons from Sparkles Macaron. The girls loved all the treats after their spa treatments! We set up a mini nail bar and a beauty bar and while some girls were getting beautified, others were creating their own flip flops. I bought pink flip flops from Old Navy and cut scrap fabric up in colors matching the party. They loved creating them and wearing them after they got their pedicures! I hired two high school students that lived in the neighborhood to come over and give the girls their beauty treatments while the moms relaxed and chatted. As the girls said their goodbyes, they each received a bag for their flip flops and were each given a mini favor box designed by Pamela Smerker Designs with hot pink polish and cotton balls for touch ups at home. Jameson Monroe also sent for each girl a headband as an extra special treat and they all received a mini cupcake bath bomb from FB Essentials. The party was a hit and the girls truly had an amazing time! The birthday girl’s shirt was designed by me, her mommy of Sweet Threads Clothing Co and The Sweet Crush designed a matching necklace for her to wear. Jameson Monroe completed her outfit with a special headband for her super special 5th birthday! It definitley was a party to remember!
