SugarAndBows

We are two girls working in Property Management who share a love of baked goods and parties. Our friendship started back in 2008 and has grown over the past few years while baking for coworkers, family, and friends. As we started getting more requests for our treats, we ventured into styling parties, and here we are today!

We created Sugar & Bows just for you to see our sweet guide to entertaining.

A few of my Favorite Things

Inspired by the classic film “The Sound of Music” and its most famous song, we created a day celebrating the Mom-to-Be and all of her favorite things.
Anyone who knows the Mom-To-Be knows that she loves a little glitz and glam in her life.  She loves glitter and sparkly things so we decorated with sequined table runners and squares on all the tables, and filled the room with her favorite purple tulips.
To keep everyone having fun there were some great games to celebrate the new mom-to-be.  Guests took a guess at the Mom-to-Be’s age in some fun photos provided by her family, then they guessed how many candy pacifiers were in a jar, and even tried their luck with baby themed scratch cards!  In addition to the games, two of her oldest friends made a banner with pictures of  when she was just a baby herself!
Guests were also asked to bring a book to start the baby’s library, and share their favorite nursery stories with the newest addition to the Brown family.
While the Mom-to-Be opened all of her beautiful (and tiny) baby presents, everyone treated themselves to cupcakes and then filled up a favor box with her favorite cookies.  These “Brown Paper Packages Tied up with String” were a big hit, and we displayed them on a table decorated with a little animal print (another one of her favorites).

Look Whooo’s Having a Girl

It’s a girl! Dawn and Brian’s family hosted a baby shower for all of their Massachusetts family and friends and wanted Sugar & Bow’s assistance for the party planning. We thought long and hard (about 30 seconds) and came up with an Owl and Chevron theme that we thought fit the parents-to-be perfectly. All of the guests were asked to bring along an unwrapped onesie to hang on the clothesline. At the end of the night Dawn and Brian picked their favorite onesie and the winner received a wine themed S&B basket. This amazing basket included a bottle of wine, Rosemary Wine Crackers, Cheese Straws, a heart shaped cutting board, two wine glasses, and a package of gold napkins. The dessert buffet included mini chocolate chip cupcakes with buttercream frosting and topped of with chocolate shavings, mini apple cider cake donuts, and an chocolate chip cake. At the end of the night each guest was asked to take a small purple chevron bag with an elephant (the theme of the nursery) sugar cookie.
