Gender Neutral Eclectic Nursery

When I was a mama-to-be, the designer in me focused on the nursery as if it were the most important project of my career, and it became the epicenter for all baby preparedness. I mulled over every detail, including the furniture, color scheme, fabrics and accessory choices. My husband and I chose not to find out the gender of our bundle of joy until the day of birth, making the project that much more difficult. Traditionally families visit a baby superstore, select a theme and flood the space with pink or blue decor. And while those tactics are well suited for many new parents, I was determined to create a unique, gender-neutral space. Instead of selecting a theme, I focused on creating an eclectic nursery, which gave me the ability to change the idea of what a nursery should look like.
