Swan Nursery

This is actually my baby girl’s second nursery with in her first year of life. At the young age of just 6 months old we relocated for my husband’s job. Her first nursery was bright, cheerful, and fun! This time I wanted to go the complete opposite with a soft and dreamy space and a few chic and sophisticated touches. A few months ago as I was scrolling through The Land of Nod pages, this gorgeous riding toy swan stopped me dead in my tracks. I fell head over heels and ordered it immediately (without even having the house yet!). I used lots of white, ivory, and flowing fabrics to create the soft dreamy feel. The chaise lounge was actually a great bargain and adds that touch of sophisticated elegance. I used abstract art, watercolor prints, and typography sleek frames for a chic element. I added the silk florals to dress up a simple mirror. The beautiful crib is a true vintage Jenny Lind that I painted in Behr’s Castilian Pink. This room was fun to dream up and see come to fruition. I hope you enjoy!

Felt Floral Baby Girl Shower

My long distance best friend of 10 years is pregnant with her first child. When she found out it was a girl, I was over the moon with excitement and couldn’t wait to plan the shower of her dreams! Being my best friend I tend to help her in decorating your house as well, so for her shower I wanted to come up with a theme in which she could keep the majority of the decorations and incorporate into the nursery. Real flowers of course are stunning but not something she could re-utilize, so I created all of these gorgeous felt flowers with intentions of using in her nursery. I made a large arrangement for the diaper cake so she could add to throw pillows, creating a 3D effect. They are beautiful on the pillows!! I made the tapestry behind the cake table so she could hang as a focal point in the room. She was able to utilize all of the frames, hand painted globe, and frame the digital floral artwork as well. The whole shower was perfect and exactly what she was dreaming of!

Noah’s Ark Nursery

I love the simplicity and clean design of this room. I wanted a few pieces that made a bold statement for this space. The large giraffe adds a sophisticated yet childish touch. The crib was a complete craigslist score, an elderly couple selling the vintage Jenny Lind crib used by their 5, now grown, children. I was over the moon to find such a precious gem. The charming light fixture was a habitat re-store find! I knew the second I saw it piled amongst the various brass and 1980’s fixtures it was perfect for the space I was planning. I’m sure in someone’s dining room it was hideous but in this precious space it adds the perfect touch of whimsical elegance.

Hand Painted Floral Wall Mural Nursery

While pregnant with my most recent baby (#3 a baby girl!) I spent several early mornings hand painting a focal wall in her nursery. I was loving the look of Anthro’s floral wallpaper but not the price. I also wanted something original and unique for her. So for just $20 I created my own take on the water color floral trend! Her room is so pretty and girly and with two brothers before her, this momma is very happy with that!
