Katie

I am a mom of one with one on the way Summer 2016! I recently started a lifestyle blog - livingthewolfstyle.com where I cover everything from recipes, to interior design, to toddler outfits, to maternity must-haves.

World Traveller Playroom

I designed this gender neutral playroom around the large wall mural/map of the world.  That determined my color palette — browns, blues, greens, taupes, and whites.  I found a great green and white cabana stripe for the roman shades and a rug that reminded me of the sand to convert our hardwood floors into a more playroom-friendly surface.   From there, I brought in fun but functional pieces that would grow with our children from infancy to toddlerhood and beyond.  This is such a happy space for my daughter and her playmates!

Gender Neutral Nursery (with pops of pink for a little girl)

I wanted this to be the nursery for all of our children, so I didn’t want the walls or any investment pieces to be gender specific. That meant along with the green walls, neutral rug, and off-white curtains, I would pull in white furniture. Once we found out we were having a little girl, I giddily scooped up soft pink accents (like a sweet blanket) and also received a lot of pink gifts that eventually found their home in the nursery. So there I had my color palette — dark green, white, and neutrals with hints of baby pink.
