Julieta Alvarez

Julieta Alvarez is the founder and owner of Julieta Alvarez Interiors with projects located in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Her approach to design does not hold rigidly to one style, but instead draws upon multiple elements from her extensive travels to create a well balanced space that is both comfortable and stylish while never losing touch of the client's individual style and personality. Her creativity ranges from making her own low budget IKEA hacks to finding that one quirky vintage piece that makes a room shine.

Born and raised in Argentina, Julieta moved to NYC in 2000 to pursue a career in interior design. After a stint working along a real estate developer in Brooklyn, Julieta decided to forge ahead with her lifelong passion and graduated from the internationally recognized New York School of Interior Design. After working for Jeff Lincoln Interiors for 5 years, she opened her own company in 2015.

When she is not having fun designing, she is thinking about design or on what trip to go next with her husband and daughter. On the weekends, they love to take spontaneous trips to flea markets and to Hudson NY for antique shopping.

West New York, NJ Eclectic Nursery

My daughter’s room was inspired by my past travels and my eclectic aesthetic. I started with a neutral wall color, then added a Kilim rug, which I bought in Instanbul, and peppered the same colors form the rug around the room. Most of the furniture is either in white wood or natural woods. The leather pulls from the ikea dresser was my own diy project. The painting was commissioned by an artist taking the colors from the rug and the tassel wall hanging was made by her mom.
