Pear and Asparagus Baby Food Recipe - Project Nursery

Pear and Asparagus
(makes about 10 oz.)
Note: Use organic ingredients whenever possible.
2 Bartlett pears—washed, peeled, cored and chopped
6-8 stalks of asparagus—washed with the rough ends snapped off and discarded and chopped finely

Pour water into a large pot until it is about one inch deep. Bring to a boil over high heat. Place the asparagus into a stainless steel steamer basket and put the basket into the pot. Make sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the steamer basket. Cover and steam for 5-7 minutes.

Put the pears and asparagus into a food processor and pulse until a mushy mash consistency is achieved. This is thicker and lumpier than a stage one puree but the lumps must be soft.

Serve or store. Pear and asparagus puree will stay fresh in an airtight container for up to three days in the fridge and up to three months in the freezer. Enjoy!
