2013 Nursery Trends: Vintage Made Modern

The Jenny Lind crib is a tried-and-true classic. This crib has popped up in our gallery countless times, and we’ve noticed that it’s usually paired with a vintage or traditional nursery style. Since we love the idea of taking a classic look and putting an updated spin on it, we decided to design a vintage nursery with a more modern twist.

For this Vintage Made Modern design board, which we created for the MDB Nursery Trends Event, we chose the Jenny Lind crib in a beautiful hue of turquoise for an unexpected pop of color. We then added hot pink and kelly green accents to create a vibrant and fresh color palette. The sleek white of the dressers and rocker brings in the perfect amount of modern to the space and really blends the traditional and modern styles.

Well, I have always thought modern and vintage will never go well together. Apparently they do and you can make vintage look modern, too.

Would love to have those apothecary jars. They'd make really fancy terrariums.

Nice items with traditional designs but with a certain new-ness to them.

I dig those rolling storage carts! They are perfect for just about anything, from toys, to garden tools to arts and crafts materials.
