2013 Nursery Trends: Industrial-Chic

Did you catch our event recap from the NYC Nursery Design Event we hosted with The MDB Family? Now that we’ve had some time to take a breath and catch up, we’d love to share the nursery vignettes we created for the event. After all, Project Nursery is the place to visit for nursery inspiration, and we hope our creations inspire you!

For this event, we designed six looks we felt best captured the hottest trends for nursery decor in 2013. Using  furniture from The MDB Family brands, like Babyletto, Nurseryworks and Franklin & Ben as the centerpieces, we styled each vignette to represent a different theme. So without further ado, we give you our first trend: Industrial-Chic.

1. WeeGallery Art Cards 2. Black & White Washi Tape 3. Zebra & Lion Pillows 4. Nurseryworks Loom Changer 5. Empire Rocker 6. DaVinci Highland Crib 7. Aluminum Buckets 8. Black & White Cowhide Rug 9. Custom Number Crib Sheet 10. Industrial Stool

What do you think of this style? Would you go for this look for your next nursery?

I can't wait to see the rest of the "trends" or looks you came up with.

I had to Google "industrial-chic". This is the first time I have come across this term. Well, I learned something new today.

Me too. I have heard of industrial chic several times but I never really knew what it meant and I really didn't bother to look it up. It was nothing more than one of those design mumbo-jumbos that I admit are just beyond my grasp most of the time. And after googling it, all I got were these adjectives: saturated hues, structural characteristics and bold forms. And I'm still like "huh?"

Totally love the cowhide rug! I didn't realize you could get something so cool in an affordable place like Ikea-- great tip.
