Melanie’s Favorite Maternity Jean: DL1961

Where were DL1961 Maternity jeans when I needed them? I had no clue that they made a maternity jean! They make some of  the best fitting denim I have ever tried. Now you can get the popular Kate Straight Leg Jean with an underbelly waistband.

I personally like the look of the Angel Ankle Jean, which would be cute with flats or tucked into boots.

If bootcut is your thing, then try the new Milano Bootcut.

Have you tried DL1961’s before? What do you think of the fit?

The Angel Ankle Jean would be my pick because I do wear flats and flip flops most of the time, which is what pregnant women ought to wear for safety’s sake.

I actually have the angel and joy (a flare). I just discovered DL1961 this past fall and think the regular line is amazing. However, they still have some room for redesign w/maternity. They styles are great, but I found 2 opportunities for improvement:
    1. the stitching below the front pockets comes down too low…making it look like your pants are falling off in the front unless you have a super long top on.
    2. The belly panel needs more elasticity. I didn’t gain too much during my pregnancy and only really gained in my belly, but they panel on these were so tight that I never wore them past 7 months. They just weren’t comfortable and I typically chose fashion over comfort.
Other than those two things…I love style, fit, and colors.

This made me ask myself why I never wore maternity jeans during my time. These jeans are just so stylish.

Hmn…. thanks for the heads-up, Christy. If I bought these jeans, I think it would suck if I couldn’t wear them when my belly gets too big. That would totally defeat the purpose of why I bought then in the first place.

While these jeans are really stylish and they would look great with any maternity top, I still prefer dresses. I have tried wearing maternity jeans, but the elastic band at the waist will never stretch enough to accommodate my belly in the last couple of months or so.
