Bump Style: Maternity Bathing Suits
No matter where you live right now, it’s just plain hot. For all you pregnant women out there, I feel for you! My first pregnancy was during the summer, and I remember all I wanted to do was float in a pool all day long. Swimming is actually one of the best things you can do while pregnant! It’s great exercise, it feels amazing and it will keep you cool during the dog days of summer.
Whether you will be hitting the pool or beach this summer, you need the perfect swimsuit to accommodate your growing bump. I know it’s not an easy task. Your body is changing every single month, and it’s hard to find a suit that will fit at five months as well as the end of your pregnancy. A great option is to get a tankini or a bikini that you can switch out with different bottoms if you need to. As your belly grows, so does your bottom half!
Sabina Swims makes this adorable “Mommy Me” tank that can be paired with any of their bottoms. The tank comes in twenty different prints and eleven solids. It is a very flattering cut with the sweetheart neckline, ruching and side ties.
BelaBumBum Maternity makes this sexy yet simple Swim Ring Halter and Bikini bottom. The bottoms are full coverage, and the top has braided halter ties with a keyhole opening.
If you are brave enough to show your cute bump, BelaBumBum also makes a classic bikini. The nice thing about doing a basic bikini, as opposed to a maternity suit, is that you can also wear it post baby.
If you are looking for something bolder, I adore this colorful tankini by Maternal America.
Old Navy has great maternity separates at really affordable prices. I wore their bathing suit bottoms while pregnant, and I really loved how they fit. They still looked cute while giving adequate coverage. I just paired them with one of my favorite bikini tops.
Lastly, you can’t go to the pool or beach without the perfect hat. When you’re pregnant, your skin is more sensitive to the sun. You can do major damage to your skin if you go out for too long unprotected. Get a wide brim hat or a cute fedora for extra coverage this summer. How cute is this zebra-print Fedora from the Gap?
What will you be wearing this summer?
