Floating Inspiration: Favorite Mobiles

An easy way to add a special touch to the nursery is with a mobile. Not only are they a great way to incorporate a little personality into your baby’s room, they can also be a magical decor statement. Whether they are handmade, one-of-a-kind or just plain fun, these are a few of my favorites.

Here is a new twist on the handmade—the crocheted mobile. Instead of having grandma make a keepsake blanket, have her create smaller versions to be attached to an embroidery hoop as a mobile.

I love this origami mobile. It is classic yet modern—a soft and simple way to add a touch of whimsy to the room.

When it comes to a baby boy’s room, keeping the theme classic and timeless is always best. Sailboats to sail away on make for the best dream keepers like in this nautical mobile.

If you have older kids, this spin art mobile is a great project for them to make for the new baby. Everyone has a spin art kit somewhere in their closet. Create lots of different combinations for a splash of moveable color.

For those who are open to taking on a larger project, this one-of-a-kind mobile also becomes a room sculpture. Patterns play together to create a visual dance for any age.

Have fun with moveable art. Make a mobile for your nursery or home.

I think that you might be able to repurpose old crocheted blankets into fun mobiles. What do you think?

For my part, I also like the nautical mobile, but I really love DIY stuff and I think that me and my kids would have fun with that spin art mobile.

I love the possibilities you have with a crocheted mobile. All that colors!!! And all that shades! But I would have to admit that the nautical mobile is the runaway winner here.
