Celebrity Design Reveal: Cake Boss

Every week dessert enthusiasts tune in to watch the master of pastry perfection, Buddy Valastro carve, ganache, and transform one man’s idea into a decadent display of imagination and fondant. Perhaps it’s the unusual requests, like the most recent vintage toilet cake equipped with running water, that makes Cake Boss so popular. But would Carlo’s Bakery be as entertaining without the endearing family behind it? We wouldn’t bet our last cannoli on it!

When Sherri Blum of Jack and Jill Interiors got the opportunity to work with the Valastro family she knew she was in for a treat. Buddy’s wife Lisa, then pregnant with baby Carlo, chose a very elegant and traditional style for the interior of their home and wanted to see that carried into the nursery. Buddy, however preferred a safari theme in over-the-top Cake Boss fashion. Sherri knew that the perfect recipe would offer what both parents’ pallets were craving. The final challenge Sherri would face was to keep everything gender-neutral since the parents wanted to be surprised on the due date. Here’s what she cooked up!

The deep greens and rich fabrics compliment the tones of the safari decor.

When baby Carlo’s older siblings visit the nursery they are reminded that they are part of this brand new experience. Sherri framed their photos with DIY metallic frames and custom matting.

You should post a picture of the cake Buddy made....it was an exact replica of this nursery. Everything mini sized! Lovely nursery, lovely family. Little Carlo Sal is a lucky little guy.

Great work on this room ladies :) I really think that letting the older sibs in on the fun is a great idea. I love the curtains, too. I think it stands out in this room where everything is delightfully beautiful!

Super love the metallic touches on this classic nursery. It definitely made the room look more elegant, timeless and yes, gender neutral.
