Giveaway: Annette Tatum Shares Her Style + Crib Bedding Giveaway!

Over the past year, we’ve gotten to know Annette Tatum through her incredibly thoughtful posts here on Project Nursery. As a successful designer and a mother of four, she gets it. She lives a self described “layered life” where her taste has evolved from single and bold, to play-doh and practical, to baby free and fashionable.  We love this about Annette. So this time we thought we would ask her a few questions about her evolving sense of style and expanding brand. And while we were at it, she’s offered a Little House crib set of choice to one very lucky PN reader!

How has your style evolved in the New Year?

I am definitely moving towards a more eclectic and sophisticated palette in my own style choices. As I move out of the “infant” stage of my children’s lives, I find that we are all growing up. I am drawn more and more towards cleaner lines, simpler shapes, and more classic color palettes.

I still like my pinks and turquoises with gold and silver hits, and I will always maintain that pink is the perfect neutral. But now I find that I’m more inspired by fashion icons than by passing trends. I want my style choices to stand the test of time.

What current trends are you crazy about these days?

With that said, I still love following fashion and keeping up-to-date with the latest runway trends. I can’t get enough of these new colors making their way into home décor. Teal, persimmon and other great hues are not just for the bold and daring. Home trends are becoming more adventurous, and that’s inspiring. It’s a break from tradition, and allows for new creative styles to emerge.

If you were to do it all over again, which crib bedding set would you now choose for your baby?

That is a hard one, but I have always loved floral garden prints. You can see them in the earliest archives of my collections. When I initially introduced them years ago in my first line of bedding, I presented it in a different color context, and it was well received. So out of nostalgia, I would probably choose one of those floral garden prints if I was decorating for a girl. For a boy, I would go with Flying Pups Blue, another earlier print that was successful for us.

Can you give AT fans like ourselves a peek of what’s in store for 2011?

A sneak peek… this April we will be launching eight new crib sets, all with a Bohemian flair. I love the radiant colors of orange, lavender and teal, and their vibrancy really inspired this new collection. I’m thinking that this is the year to travel to new and exotic lands, and hoping that 2011 brings out the “bohemian” in me!
