DIY: “Do More With Less” Roller Shade + Giveaway
Get ready for a big, big giveaway! However before I get to the goods, I want to share with you an easy DIY in this multi-tasking, high paced, crazy techy world. Sometimes simple is just plain better and it’s always great to find ways to “do more with less”. In this case, I am referring to the newly re-purposed roller shades in my son’s nursery. It’s amazing what only two yards of fabric, ordinary packing tape and an dirty old roller shade can accomplish.

Supplies
Fabric (2 yards should suffice most standard shades)
Packing Tape
Safety Pins
Roller Shade
Hemming Tape & Iron (optional)
Directions
1. Extend your rollar shade and lay your fabric on top. Should your fabric extend beyond the width of your shade, simply use hemming tape to fold and iron the edges. The edge of the fabric should be aligned with the sides of shade, no more or no less.
2. Carefully tape the top of your fabric to the top of the bar on the shade. Ensure a smooth fit and layer the tape for a secure hold.

3. Cut the fabric 1-inch below the length of the roller shade.
4. Remove the existing bar from the bottom of the shade.
5. Hang the roller shade above the window so the fabric falls naturally.
6. Fold the fabric over the bottom of the shade material and secure fabric to shade evenly with safety pins across the shade.
7. Re-attach the shade bar by sliding it over the safety pin.
Easy enough, right? Well, we want to prove our point on how you can “do more with less” with the help of the new Windows 7 phone. While it won’t re-furbish your old roller shade, it will definitely simplify your busy life allowing you to use the time you typically spend waiting for your blackberry to load more wisely. We are so convinced that you’ll be impressed, we’re offering one lucky PN reader a Windows 7 phone of your own.

I would love to win this phone because I currently own two Zunes and would like another one. I also currently own a Windows cell phone, an old one, and it is starting to show wear — cracked screen!

One of our toughest moments was combining two households.
But fortunately everyone gets along really well. We took our large porch and turned it into another bedroom, bought bunkbeds and extra dressers as well as a lot of organizational products from Ikea so that everyone still has their own individual space.

I do more with less because I am great at making money out of nothing! I find old items at garage sales and sell them on ebay for a profit…I do searches online to earn amazon gift cards…and I use online coupon codes to get free shipping and even save a percentage of the final cost!

I used to check my email through a browser; a few months ago I started using an email client. Now I can check all my email accounts at the same time! That’s doing more with less!

Must have Windows Phone 7!

Ok, so I want this phone because…my current phone is really a joke. Old and zero helpful features. I work a full time job that requires me to be available on my personal cell phone 24/7 — bad consequences if they can’t reach me, most of the time when they call I need to get web email access asap…which has involved borrowing a friends computer, stopping by the library, carrying a laptop and an aircard everywhere I go, etc. When you’re a single mom juggling three kids out for the day…it’s really no fun to try to juggle your phone while holding the silly old battery in place so it doesn’t fall out and then telling them…pack up! I need to get to a computer!
So, I’d like the phone to make my life a little easier, and make the off-hours work a little (ok, a LOT) easier. :)

We live on one income which means using coupons, buying store brands and buying clothes at consighment stores. It’s worth living frugaly so I can stay home with our children. We rarely eat out unless we have a BOGO coupon.

Wow! This giveaway came at the perfect time…would be overjoyed to win. Have had a very basic Virgin Mobile pay as you go phone and it was cheap and now the battery is dead. I really need a GOOD phone! Have to have one for emergencies when travelling to visit my daughter & granddaughters out of state…need to call AAA in case of an emergency.

Doing more with less could be decorating the christmas tree as a family. More work done in less time, and lots of family time together.

I do more with less by making homemade pizza every Friday night instead of getting take-out. Sure, it would be a lot easier to get delivery pizza, but I save a lot of money making it from scratch and it tastes great, too! My family feels the love which is an added bonus.

I do more with less everyday…I currently use a pay as you go phone strictly “in case of emergency”…it does not surf the net, it does not take pictures, in fact it does barely anything…so no Facebook or twitter from the mobile, certainly no PN –I KNOW THAT I LIVE IN THE DARK AGES!! I just cannot spend money on myself for a luxury that most others consider a necessity. This is why I would love a new phone that could do everything and FAST!
