A Few of my Favorite Things: Rebecca Propes

The holidays are upon us and to get you in the spirit, we thought we’d share a little shopping inspiration from your friends at Project Nursery. Our team has rounded up the FIVE items they love, cherish, gift or simply can’t live without.

This could possibly be one of my absolute favorite times of the year!!  Good food, lots of entertaining and  great gifts to give.  Add kids into the mix?…Even better! I love to find creative and fun gifts for the whole family. Here are a few of my favorite things this holiday season.

#1 Wooden Cookie Set from Land of Nod – There is something so nostalgic about wooden toys. I mean, what is Christmas without cookies???  Well…not Christmas at all in my book.  This pretend cookie bake set  is beyond cute even Santa may take a bite!!  Did I mention that you can snag it for under $20 bucks? AND…5% of  the sales from your purchase will go to No Hungry Kid…Sweet!

#2 Little People Holiday Play Sets – hehe…fortunately we are a house divided…we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas!  We like to refer to it as Christmakkah.  So we have both of these play sets and I have to say, the kiddos LOVE them!  It is a fun play set and learning tool all in one.

#3 The Pottery Barn Kids Anywhere Chair – This is a must have in my book and it comes in a variety of colors including this darling buffalo check!!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!  We have one and it really does go anywhere.  Playroom to greatroom, from bedroom back to playroom, this chair may take second seat to my son’s woobie.  The cover is machine washable and changing out the slipcover is a cinch!  They even have a bigger model, which I refer to as the cadilac of kid’s chairs…the Fold Out Hybrid Anywhere Lounger…it is double-wide and folds out…ha!  Genius!

#4 Cake by Petunia Pickle Bottom – Now this one is for mom…it’s the creme de la creme of all diaper bags!  When I was preggers with my first baby, I had a little anxiety about giving up my purse.  What is a girl to do?  You can beg and plead…kick and scream or simply ask Santa?  I absolutely adore my Society Sachel in French Gooseberry Cake.  It is super versatile and has numerous ways to carry it in comfort.  As a backpack, hobo/clutch, shoulder strap, or hang it from your stroller with the included clips, this bag is sure to knock the stockings right off of Mrs. Claus!

#5 Custom Paper Goods by Fresh Chick Design Studio – Want to host a cookie decorating party with your kid’s playgroup, give a personalized art print as a gift or simply need a tag to embellish you homemage holiday goodies?  Stop by my Etsy shop and check out our Holiday 2010 Printable Collections.

I love these favorite things series you have. Deeply personal, yet very inspiring. I agree with on the wooden toys Rebecca, not only are they nostalgic, they're very durable too. Plastic is good but wood is the best!

Your boys, by the way, are ADORABLE!
