A Few of my Favorite Things: Adrienne LaRocque

The holidays are upon us and to get you in the spirit, we thought we’d share a little shopping inspiration from your friends at Project Nursery. Our team has rounded up the FIVE items they love, cherish, gift or simply can’t live without.

If I could share the sound of my black lab chasing a jingle bell around the house or the smell of my Aunt Charito’s Christmas Crab Dip with you (Hey, we’re from Maryland) I would. But with no reluctance in recommending the following, please enjoy these other fantastic and more accessible favorites.
#1. When I think of the holidays “sparkle” comes to mind. These mercury glass globes from Pottery Barn include strands of white lights you can (and please do!) insert for illumination. They’re the perfect accent to the Christmas mantle and will warm up your Hanukkah dinner spread faster than you can say potato latkes.
#2. What ever happened to the abacus ? CB2 plays tribute to the classic mathematical contraption with this colorful wall hanging. You can start by counting the number of compliments you get from it.
#3. Pamper yourself or the new mom with Curase Raw Chocolate Remedies. Each artisan treat is packed full of anti-oxidants and never reached a temperature of over 115 degrees, which locks in the health benefits. I personally recommend the chocolate peanut butter cups. The raw cacao has the bitterness of a fine dark chocolate, which reminds me of espresso. The all natural peanut butter adds a subtle sweetness. When gifting, opt for the apothecary jar packaging. They add a special feel-good touch!
#4. I never leave the house without my Lifefactory water bottle. Not only were those disposable water bottles adding to my carbon footprint, but I was also getting nervous about health concerns circling around chemical breakdowns in plastic. I tried the metal sports bottles, but I couldn’t get past the aluminum taste. Lifefactory is a company committed to making beverages safer for the family. The containers are BPA-free, made of glass and protected with a colorful silicon barrier. The same concept applies to their baby bottles!
#5. Dear Santa, I made your cookies from scratch this year so you’d consider leaving me the Sophie dresser by Petit Nest . It’s even made in America, so it won’t weigh you down as your flying over those oceans. I know Blitzen complains about his back a lot these days. Oh Holy Night, just look at that walnut finish!
