I have been using Newport Cottages Furniture in nurseries and children’s rooms for over seven years now. I highly recommend the quality of their products and appreciate the attentive customer service of the company. Their furniture pieces are benchmade (made from start to finish by a skilled carpenter) in California from select hardwoods. Quality craftsmanship techniques used include mortise & tenon joinery, rail & stile construction, and inlaid and raised panels. You might not notice this craftsmanship from afar, but up close these pieces of furniture are built to last for generations and to grow with your child. Another nice feature is that the screws on the cribs, beds and case pieces are all hidden and not visible on the outside of the furniture.

Since the furniture is made of hardwoods, the cribs and beds are very sturdy and let you know that your child is safe when they shake their crib rails or bounce on their beds. Styles of furniture range from the Nantucket cottage look to modern clean lines to their newest collection inspired by the romance of Provence.
Newport Cottages was originally known for it’s beach cottage look. Some of their most popular styles are still the Taylor Collection (pictured above in the 6-Drawer Dresser with scalloped bottom), and the Cape Cod Beadboard Crib pictured below.
They made twin to king size beds as well as wonderful bunk beds. This style with the Panel Twin Over Full was extremely popular at our store for children who shared rooms.
When the modern clean-line look became popular they expanded their line to include styles such as the Andie and Ricki above and the Cody.
Newport Cottage’s newest collection is the Provence. This collection has an old-world classic French country feel and looks spectacular with gold trim accents as shown in the collection of photos above.
The line is completely customizable. Since the pieces are hand-made-to-order there is a 12 week lead time once your order is placed. (8 week rush services are sometimes available). There are over 20 different finish options, nine different applique options, and three styles of drawer pulls. The line is available on websites such as Layla Grayce and from higher end nursery boutiques or through interior designers.

Very charming furniture pieces. I would love to own some of their furniture, especially those very much like the Taylor Collection dresser and the Cape Cod Beadboard Crib. I love these types of finish. I hope we have a furniture store like this in our area.
