Giveaway: Going Green With Bloume Baby
I recently had the sincere pleasure of getting to know Annie Totten of Bloume Baby thanks to Andrika of Nursery Notations. What I love most about this blogging world is that I get to meet creative and interesting people thanks to an online medium we can all bond over. Now in my opinion, online baby boutiques are becoming a dime a dozen and it really takes some digging to uncover the good ones. Annie is one of those good ones. Her products are top notch because she hand picks every one and her website aesthetics are a real standout. After the initial attraction, I spent a good deal of time trying to get to know her products and what she and her company are all about. It’s a message I am excited to preach to you today with a super giveaway to follow!
I am amazed and shocked by all the options I have with baby number two. The little things in life seem to be healthier, more simple and pure thanks to the evolution of modern baby products. 3.5 years ago however, I did not have these options. Bottles did not have to be BPA free and who knows what my crib mattress was really made of? I feel somewhat guilty that my first son was born just shy of the green trend. While some eco was available, I didn’t know enough to seek them out. Only if I had moved to Los Angeles sooner! Now a days, you can’t avoid it and I often think how the choices must overwhelm new moms. There is an incredible amount of vocabulary to learn in terms of baby gear and accessories. Throw in eco-friendly buzz words such as green, sustainable, renewable, carbon, and VOC – It can make your head explode. Annie has simplified all of this and now one mom’s research can benefit you at Bloume baby.
In Annie’s pre-baby life, she held senior level merchandising roles with companies such as GapKids, BabyGap, Babystyle and Disney. So when it came time to make purchasing decisions for her own baby, she developed a great philosophy, “Babies come to us completely pure,” says Totten. “I believe it is our daily duty and our place to protect them. It is our responsibility to take care of each other and our planet. My son, Jack, inspires me daily – I want to give him the best and healthiest life possible. My passion for giving all babies what they deserve, a pure beginning, is what ultimately inspired me to launch the Bloume baby brand.”
If I could do it all over again I would have started with my registry. Bloume baby offers a registry service for expecting moms to kick off their eco-friendly ways down to the gift wrap! In fact, each gift registry comes with a discount code that will allow your guests to receive free gift wrap. So what are you waiting for? Oh yes, the giveaway! Here’s a sampling of going green goodies one lucky project nursery reader will win this week:
Look familiar? It’s a basket filled with products seen at our recent baby event. It was such a hit that we wanted to extend the same gift basket to one of our readers.
WIN IT: Bloume Baby is giving away a basket of eco-friendly treats (as shown above) for mom and baby to enjoy. The prize will consist of (8) items themed for a boy or girl and valued at $200. Browse the selection at Bloume baby and enter the contest by commenting with the “green” item you want most and why. Contest ends Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11:59pm pst. Spread the word for extra chances to enter.

I just love the “Newborn Cashmere Sweater Set.” The reason I love it is that it would be a gift of luxury for my 3rd grandchild, (my son’s first child.) It is so classic and would be sure to become an heirloom to pass down. Love the Bloume Baby website. Thanks for introducing it!
