Giveaway: It’s A Family Affair!

Meet The Handy Mom(s)! Matriarch Sally Bird is the original Handy Mom. She is a skilled seamstress who made dresses for her daughters and since becoming a Handy Grandma, her talents have been reignited! Her Martha Stewart-like abilities include painting, hanging wallpaper, sewing clothes, pillows, curtains, yard work and more. She is available to assist in almost any domestic project!

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Daughter Stephanie Williams has a talent of her own. She creates sweet pillows with bold stripes, fun fabrics and cross stitch personalization! A great gift or addition to any room.

These handy ladies are giving away a custom handmade pillow in the color scheme of your choosing! Here’s how to enter:

1. Comment on this post with what you are “Handy” at! It could be anything from assembling furniture, gardening or seamlessly gluing back together the vase that your son just broke (Ahem)!
2. For extra credit, subscribe to Project Nursery for our daily update or feed. If you already subscribe, just let us know!
3. Contest ends at 11:59pm, Friday, August 22, 2008.
4. Winner is selected by random.org

And for added Friday inspiration, check out the Handy children’s room. We know this is a hot topic among Project Nursery readers (brothers and sisters sharing a room). While originally all pink and girly, baby number three came along. So when little Owen had to move in, Mom (with the design help from Handy sister Jen) added cool blue blocks to give him own his boy space within the same room!

CONTEST CLOSED – Congrats to Courtney of A Mom Speaks. Who says the first few comments never wins!

I'm fairly handy at gardening. I start plants in the spring from seed and save my seeds to replant each year.
