I may be late coming to the table with this find. I feel like the mommy design blogosphere has been showcasing a plethora of creative mobiles lately. Well, in case you haven’t cruised the worldwide web for “handmade retro bird mobiles” in the past month, here’s something special to admire and if crafty enough, create on your own.

Thank you to Jonathan’s Journey, (he sure is cute) for posting this find originally and of course Spool for sharing their art and creativity for all to enjoy!

Thanks so much for mentioning our blog, and I’m so happy to have helped you find these birds. I just love them! :) I’ll link to your post on our blog later today. Thanks again!
Very cool….and congrats Melisa, watching Rate My Space right now!!
This is exactly what I have been looking for. I am designing my first baby’s nursery with a bird theme in mind. I love the mobile, but I have no clue how to sew. Any chance of purchasing this somewhere?
Yes- I just saw this on Etsy. Search there for bird mobile and you’ll find them!
[...] The color inspiration came from a quilt Cassie made a few years back and the crib/crib bedding is from Walmart. Fearing that the notNeutral wall decals would not properly adhere due to the room’s textured walls, Cassie created her own version with a quart of paint, stencils made out of card stock, and a roll of masking tape. The green paint on the wall is Valspar 6003-3B Martinique Dawn in eggshell and the green used for the mural is Valspar MS245 Spiny Sea Urchin in semi-gloss. For more DIY details, visit Cassie’s sweet blog “Twittering Bird“. Oh, and we must boast that Project Nursery inspired the darling, complimentary handmade bird mobile! [...]
